| In other words, after four sets of near-perfect distribution (there were isolated cases of dupes in Aberrations, Deathknell, Angelfire, and Underdark, but those were exceptions), WD cases got the shaft.
This is troublesome, particularly when added to the already significant list of problems present in WD:
-Non-perfect case distribution
-Poor paint jobs for many Rares and Uncommons
-Greater than usual number of card defects
-Poor card editing (mismatched factions, etc.)
-One of the starter maps unplayable out of the box

| In one case I got two aspects of Moradin and two Gulgars. I was not too happy. Worse, I emailed WoTC customer service to complain about the distribution and the paint jobs and they sent me back some canned statement about paint masters and what-not and claimed the paint quality on WD was the same "great" quality we've seen on all other sets (yeah whatever) and didn't even address the distribution complaint. Grrr...

| As some people have previously mentioned, with 23 rares and cases of 12, it's not really possible to have an even distribution and no duplicates. In the best case I can think of, you have duplicates in 1 in every 4 cases. It's possible that they went with some other scheme and the duplicate rate is closer to 1 in 2. Who knows?
To have cases with no duplicate rares, the number of rares has to be an even multiple of the number of boosters in a case. Angelfire/Underdark has 24 rares and 12-booster cases, so no duplicates there. WotDQ will have 18 (normal) rares and 6 boosters in a case, so I wouldn't expect dupes there either. The developers have hinted that Blood War will be a return to 24 rares, so the duplicate rares in a case might just be a phenomenon limited to starter sets. | |

| One of my two cases had a duplicate rare. But since it was a Chimera, I can't complain.
At a sealed tournament last night, one player opened his two boosters and found 2 Aspects of Moradin. The boosters were from the same case. It made for a nasty sealed army. | |

This is not true. There were just as many issues with dupes in Aberrations as WD. What is the corrolation? Aberrations was the last set to have 23 rares.
I don't understand why people are overeacting to this... It's nice that WotC tries to seed the cases, and that we don't have the horrible distribution of Harbinger any longer (4 vadania's anyone), but getting one set of dupes in a case is NOTHING to complain about. These are random figures! 12 doesn't divide well into 23!

| I understand the difficulty when dealing with 23 rares, and don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining but I got:
1 case: 2 Chimeras, 2 Snigs, 2 Warforged Barbeau-bots
Every other booster since (about 10):
1 Barbeau-bot, no more dupes
This is the first set that I've had more luck with random, off-the-shelf boosters than sealed cases, as far as not pulling dupes is concerned. | |

| I got 2 Sand giants in my first case, then one more in my second. But out of 3 cases total, the sand giant was the only one to have two in the same case. Of course, I got NO Chimeras in any of the cases... the figure I wanted the most!
