| Ok..I know what a players kit looks like. A repaint of a mini, a tile, a spell template ect.
But how does one get these things?
My FLGS os more like a LGS. They carry DDM on a shelf but thats it. There are no kids playing the game inside the store. There are no Pre-Release tournaments that people seem to talk about before the release of a new set.
I cant even get the set posters!
So Im really clueless. If I wanted to get my hands on these kits so I had the repaints and the RPGA adventures and the epic cards for old figures.... What would I need to do?

| I convinced my FLGS once to buy a retailer kit (which contains all the repaints, templates, adventures, posters, etc.). However, as he doesn't often (ie. never) run tournaments, gatherings, etc., he has been reluctant to order more. (I think the cost is about $20. I'm sure I'll be corrected if it isn't!)
If you could volunteer to organize tournaments or something similar, you might be able to get a steady supply of retailer packs.
In my case now, I'm forced to buy from Ebay, trade for them, or drive a couple of hours to attend tournaments with prize support.

| | Yeah, I think the only way to get them is through a LGS. I know that I have gotten them this way. If you talk to the owner/whoever does the stores ordering about organizing and the fact this will get people to buy more stuff. You can get in like flynnn....At least that is the approach I would use... | | Ambassador of FUN!!! | |

| The DDM Retailer Kits cost a store $10 I think. If they are reluctant to order one each month offer to pay them for it and use it yourself as prize support for people who demo the game with you or if you hold a tournament.
Don't just sell the stuff on Ebay, that would be, um, bad or something......
Actually the stuff in those kits can drum up interest in the game and if you do it right your local shop might recognize that effort and foot the bill himself and even help promote the game. One could only hope. | | **overlong signature deleted. Please see posting guidelines**

| | There's one thing, even after reading the WotC site, that I'm still usure about. Does the store have to run DCI events, or can any retailer obtain them? | | In the constellation of Cygnus, there lurks a mysterious, invisible force:

| | I thought any retailer can buy them. The store I play at does not run DDM DCI sanctioned events and they get their hands on the kits. The sell lots of other WotC stuff too so that may have something to do with it as well. | | **overlong signature deleted. Please see posting guidelines** | |

| | I think the cost for the retailers is closer to 10 than 20 dollars. I have heard of stores getting them that don't run events, but carry products. I know one of the stores in my area carries products, has DDM night (casual playing--not recorded tournaments mostly). They have been getting kits and giving out repaints and such for participants. It helps their sales of other DDM products. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse | |

| | Retailer kits cost $10 and are available to any store that orders directly from WotC. Some stores order through distributors, so they wouldn't be able to get the kits that way. Running events isn't necessary, just the direct ordering. | | | |

| I knew I would be corrected on the price -- many times in fact! [:D]

| | I believe the player kits are the next step up from the Basic Game, with the soft cover PHB and some other goodies in them. | | Champion of Champions (for all races! even Gnomes ) Reference Thread Winnipeg Gryphon Cavalry Forums
