So what are the release dates for War of the Dragon Queen and the Gargantuan Black? I've heard conflicting reports. Geez, we have events to plan!

The release date for WotDQ is scheduled to be July 7th, and we've been told that prereleases are being scheduled for the weekend of the 1st/2nd, so at this point that date is fairly certain.
The Gargantuan Black hasn't made it onto the release calendar yet, but I believe that it was pushed back to August.

| Thanks, LCS, for the info and the link. My FLGS seems to think that WotDQ id being released on July 11 for some reason.
Bummer about the GBD being pushed back. We were hoping to use it in a display to push WotDQ. *Sigh*

Jim - the prereleases in our area of the world have been scheduled and posted on the DCI site:
2006-07-01 DDM War of the Dragon Queen Prerelease #18540 Waco, TX, United States
2006-07-01 DDM War of the Dragon Queen Prerelease #18555 Houston, TX, United States
2006-07-01 DDM War of the Dragon Queen Prerelease #18567 Garland, TX, United States
And yes, despite only four people showing up last time (all from Austin, thank you) and their utter lack of other DDM events, Waco got the prerelease again. Way to go, DCI.

| I didnt know the official dates, but I pretty much guessed them. Its good to have definite answers tho.
I think at this point WotC just puts all the shops' names in a hat and just picks them out randomly heh. | |

The dates are on the tournament pages now, so you should be able to find them. I think they've been there for awhile, but I dunno fore sure.

I'm pretty sure they don't ... otherwise the same stores that don't do squat otherwise for DDM wouldn't continue to get prereleases.

| | I wish that tournaments would maybe have a little variety up here in Canada.....British Columbia to be more precise. I live practically smack dab on the B.C./Alberta border(you know if you look at an atlas and the border makes a farther angle than a "<" symbol, well a little bit down from the angle change, just a tiny bit, that's me.) so I'm pretty much hooped when it comes to finding any sort of tournament close enough to go to. Even Edmonton(the closest place that always plays host to DDM tournaments) is too far as I am still going to high school(although with only one more year to go after this one) and I only have my "L"(learners) driver's license(even though my birthday was in February so I could have gotten my "N" a fairly long time ago but I don't think I'm ready, need more driving lessons) so I am a bit ticked off that there isn't more variety in tournament locations. Obviously, tournament locations are where the most people are likely to go based on DCI numbers, population density and whatnot, but surely there can be little more representation for those of us who have situations such as mine. Of course, don't use my example for the general standard. That'd be silly. I'm not being sarcastic, just so you know, instead I am a very understanding person but even I have limits. I had best stop this rant of mine before I say something I will come to regret. But still, remember that not all of us are easily(or semi-easily) represented! | |

| Amazon lists the release date of the GBD as august 1st, I just cancelled my preorder and reordered at the the lower price yesterday and my confimation email says it will be shipped to me on August 5th.However for all I know these could just be place holder dates.

I wish I could make that trip to Waco, but at the current cost of gas, just for one to go would make the event too expensive to be worthwhile. | |

| I think I might make it up to Waco this time around if I don't chicken out like I did for Wardrums. I've only played in one prerelease before(Angelfire) and that was in Minnesota. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the Texas crowd (even if it is only 4 Austinites).
