When I read that clue, 48 hours immediately came into my mind. It's an Eddie Murphy movie that has him singing a Police song.

| I know people have been guessing the Roper is one of the figures, since his character's last name was Roper in the movie Metro. But his name was Axel in Beverly Hills Cop, and what is only mini with axles? That's right, the Arcane Ballista? Huh? Huh?

| The clue was:quote: So a HUGE clue inc. Think Police and Eddie Murphy film for one of them.
The followup to the clue was:quote: The HUGE reference was NOT to a mini but to the clue...
Bah now I'm making his too simple...
Accordingly, I think the huge applies to the clue directly - as in focus on what is huge in the clue: The capital letters. EMP.
Elf Pyro Mancer.
Even if that isn't the card, I'll still cling to my belief that this is the best answer to the clue.
48 hours is another obvious connection between Eddie Murphy and (the) Police as Eddie sings Roxanne in the film, but 48 could mean so many things... the figure number, 40 hit points and 8 attack bonus.... etc...
Personally, I hope I'm right because I'd rather see an Epic Pyromancer than an Epic Arcane Archer, Champion of Eilistree, Valorous Prince or Hunched Giant. | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. Good reasoning but it can't be the Elf Pyro. That fig was guessed early on. I, among others, used it in on of my early guesses. | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!

Personally, I hope I'm right because I'd rather see an Epic Pyromancer than an Epic Arcane Archer, Champion of Eilistree, Valorous Prince or Hunched Giant.
I was actually going to guess Hunched Giant as one of the 2 because of the 48 hours thing and the HUGE clue, because the Hunched Giant had the unfurled ability.
Plus it makes a good epic piece if its stats are adjusted for Unfurled Might and had its other abilities (Tunnel Scream and Chain Lightning spells).
But its been mentioned a couple of times already and Ian didn't react. And the aformentioned HUGE thing was pertaining to the clue and not the fig itself.
The other disconcerting clue is the oft-mentioned kobold and "flying/shooting off to the opposite direction." I'm thinking epic Large Bronze Dragon with its repulsion breath, but it's been mentioned already as well and no reaction from Ian. A kobold fig? Unlikely.
Seriously, Ian's clues are a little too tricky and somewhat "red herring-y". Instead of us working on the clues to find the right fig, most of us just end up choosing a likely candidate and then force/justify the clues to it. There are simply too many factors (cost, number, fig name, etc.) that almost any reasonable fig could be a candidate if you are creative enough. But maybe I'm just not smart enough... my head hurts already. Damn you Talafenix! [:p]

Nah, I thought BHC right away and then tried to wrap my mind around what minis have those initials.
Another thing that led me to the 48 hours conclusion was the fact that the band, The Police, are english and Ian is english.
I can definitely see the Bev Hills Cop tie in though. | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!

| If we're going to consider the clue for the Police to mean the band, then we have to consider that the lead singer is called "Sting". Therefore the clue clearly leads to Lolth's Sting.
There you have it. Definitive proof that we are getting our first Epic common.[:p]
Honestly, I have been half convinced by the explanations for at least six different minis. The only thing that doesn't make sense is me having been closer than I thought. I'm pretty sure now that I really WAS way off (and still am). Unless the reasoning that I was using of making previously low use creatures usable was on to something. But how do you explain Drizzt and Archie that way? They're already pretty useful.

| I chose the war chanter because he said an Eddie Murphy movie. The only actual movies with Eddie Murphy in the title are Raw and Delireous(SP). Raw turns around to be War and the police were a band, hence the war chanter. convoluted, yes. I chose Jozan because he is (old) can't get much older than harbinger. He is (new) first appeared as an icon in 3.0. He can be borrowed (by Drizzt)and he is blue(well his clothes are anyway). | | Champion of Eludecia, Succubus Paladin mounted on Vrock
