Tell me this.... So, you see a lot of cool skirmish minis that you want to try out, but can only do so in about 3 weeks. Will waiting 3 weeks decrease your excitement? Or will it increase your excitment?

Love it! That would be awesome. lol
To me it looks like the griffon rider is a little overcosted. However, look at the damage potential for a charge on another mounted creature: 2 Attacks x (15 magic + 10 Jouster + 10 Powerful Charge) = 70 damage! Plus, you could conceivably become fearless off that one charge.

Animal followers gain fearless. WARBAND BUILDING: Animals and planbts of any faction are legal in your warband. Special Abilities Beastmaster 8; Plantmaster 8 Magic Stone(Damage +5 to Undead) Stable Footing (not slowed by difficult terrain) Spells 2nd - Briar Web [] (sight; radius 4, the next time an affected creature moves, it takes 5 damage and is considered to be in difficult terrain, ignore spell resistance, does not affect creatures with flight) 3rd - Call lightning [](sight; 20 electricity damage, ignore spell resistance, DC 15; 20 electricity damage whenever target creature activates until its save succeeds) Neutralize Poison [](Touch; remove poison, and target creature gains immune poison) 4th - Flame Strike [] (sight; radius 2, 30 fire damage DC 16)
A commander 4 with a good repertoire of offensive spells that makes Dire bears fearless at a total cost of only 46 points? Not bad.

Yep, but I do wish the she gave the plants fearless as well. The Warbound Impaler could really use it.
I'm also a fan of the Greenspawn, though a bit surprised that he doesn't fly.
Aasimar is a good buy for 4 pts.
Dragonborn is a slap in the face. Weak, weak, weak.
The Purple Worm could be great. Hit enough times, and eventually even Epic Soth and Epic Rikka will fail that save.

| From the abilities standpoint, I don't see why the Dragonborn is rare. Not at all. It's a bit too addicted to fighting dragons -- which is fine in the RPG, but in Skirmish, not so much. Looking beyond sealed, it could be a very limited piece.
Definitely one that should have been uncommon and remained uncommon. Stat-wise, it's very "uncommon" in appearance. Even the BW isn't enough to make it a rare ability. Sure, you can pick the energy type, but it's still not very powerful -- especially in a still Couatl-heavy meta.
Maybe it will become a bit more popular if dragons really do take off and start showing up in more games. | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

I was wondering the same thing.... Dragonborn Fighter looks like the first LG snoozer in the set and I imagine someone at some point will pick it up and decide to tinker with including it in a band. If dragons dominate the metagame, it could be the next Arcane Ballista (well, probably not, but still, a slap in the face? I think not). | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. I was really excited about this piece hopefully being LG's 30ish point cost beater. Alas, he sucks. Oh well, par for the course I suppose.

| Aasimar Fighter is another common. I was kinda hoping that it would have been around the 20+ point range, but what can ya do? As a plus side, this guy pretty much replaces Hill Dwarf Warrior. Same HP, higher AC, elemental resists and an inbuilt damage booster. While the HDW has synergy with Dwarf commnaders, this guy is fearless with a CoDA. Good, solid common.
Dragonborn Fighter gets killed by Speed 4 and low damage+attack bonus. I really cant see a reason to play thin guy instead of a Justice Archon. But since most of the LG in this set are pretty damn nice, I think I can live with one not-so-good mini.
Warden of the Woods. Finally something good for CG. Two Fearless Dire Bears, Warbound Impaler and smaller stuff like Wolves. Plus it has a very respectable ranged hurting ability with all the spells, and the attack bonus on the Magic Stone isnt too bad either. Now why wasnt the Lion of Talisid this cool?
Purple Worm will be fun in my Epic Greenfang Druid warbands. The damage potential is a bit low to my taste, but I guess the poison will offset that a bit. Burrow 6 gives a nice ability move on the battlefield, and swallow whole is good for assasinating Medium creatures. Archmage, Rikka, Elminster, Soth, etc. A lot of good mediums to eat.
Greenspawn Razorfiend I like. It has some great ideas and good synergy with other Spawn and the HToT. (Hobgob Talon of Tiamat) Good base stats, nice attack bonus and good damage potential after a Magic Weapon. Only bad thing is the current metagame with alot of crit-immune constructs and undead.
Stirge is a bit overcosted. Mob is a nice ability and it has a nice damage potential, but I really cant see myself paying 9 points for these critters. Maybe in epic.... | | Champion of the Sarrukh | |

| Is it any stranger than Epic Meepo (which was suggested numerous times)?
Take a CR2 Wizened Elder, add on 15 or so levels of Watcher and you end up with a CR17 monster. Not so hard to fathom as epic. Besides, who ever heard of a CR2 rare?
Besides, what else foots the bill? Epic Tavern Brawler? Epic War Ape? [)]
I suppose that either of the clerics could likely be epic. Golden Protector is out on account of Talafenix stating that it'll be coming along in one of the next four retailer kits.
