Hi guys! I will be moving to Leeds in a couple of weeks. Can you please point me where I can buy DDM and SWM? Thanks!

I don't know much about game stores in leeds, but online your best bets are tcardsuk.com and iguk.co.uk for cases, and tcardsuk, tritex games (can't remember website adress) and theorderofinitiative.co.uk for singles. For actual stores, your best bet will probably be Fanboy 3 in manchester, which is one of the two hubs of players in the UK. It should only be 1-1.5 hours drive from Leeds (i think). Alepulp can probably give you a better lowdown than I can about stores in the north of england. Will you be in the UK by saturday July 1st, cause if you are the war of the dragon queen prerelease at fanboy 3 would be a good oppertunity to meet most of the UK players, because most of us come along to that.

From a shipping perspective, I've often been annoyed at canada post. It is cheaper to ship oversees, than within my own city. WTH is up with that?

Yes, if you are in Leeds, come over and say hello for the WOTDQ prerelease. Prettymuch all the active players int he UK will be there by the sounds of it..

I'd like to point you towards the UK DDM website too-

Hello,

I lived in York for 3.5 years and visited Leeds from time to time. There is a game store there in the Corn Exchange building called The Travelling Man. A good stroe/chain. I have to admit that I found their York outlet to be slightly better for RPG, but the Leeds store is larger. They used to have a web site with further info about the business, as there were at least 4 stores in England. I think it was www.thetravellingman.com. A quick google search would help you out.

My time in York was pre-DDM, so no info about skirmishing.

If you can make it to London there are two great shops there that I remember. The Orc's Nest down near Leicester Square and Playin'Games right near the British Museum (on Museum Street actually). The Orc's Nest has a web site, but the web site for Playin'Games disappeared a couple of years back.

Cheers [:)]

Hello addendum to my previous post. See the following for the Leeds store of Travelling Man:

www.travellingman.com

They do carry DDM and Star Wars, although the web site seems to be a couple of sets behind.

Cheers [:)]

With the joke prices we have to pay in the UK, import from US.
You might get stung by customs but worth the risk.

Yeah, I used to buy from the US, and then, suddenly, the Customs decided to slap on a hefty duty... OK for ones and twos, but not major purchases.

Also, about 30 miles away, is Manchester, with the best UK gaming store (no, I don't work there - just game), Fanboy3. www.fanboy3.co.uk Also, feel free to join the UK trading community - link below! For ease - grab a direct train to Manchester Piccadilly from Leeds central station - 35 mins later you will be at Fanboy3 (200 m from the main platform at Piccadilly railway station).

One of these days WoTC will update their tournament page when I'm in the top 5... they never seem to do when I'm in that bracket :(

Customs will burn you hard, on my shipment of a tiny 8 inch by 8 inch box I got hit for £20 customs, on an order only worth about £50, on top of £20 shipping. Mind you, it was the only real way to get the gauth. Also, hello Bugsy, and welcome to the UK, look forward to meeting you at the war of the dragon queen pre-release.

Keep the order under the customs limit, and you pay nothing. It used to be £18, but I believe it's now £28 or something (don't quote me). This doesn't include shipping, so get the package clearly marked so that customs can see how much the item *costs* and how much is shipping. I've ordered lots from America with these limits in mind, and never had to pay anything, ever [:)]
