I have a pretty serious collecttion of promos, most of which are selected from multiple copies after being interrorgated by two sets of discriminate eyes.
I'm going to be bold... perhaps go out on limb... and say that about 80% of those I have to pick my 'keeper' from have bases that are warped or, blatantly bent.
In previous messages we've discussed ways to rectify this however, I'm a firm believer of prevention and it being better than cure.
Perhaps some of you guys have theories on how these bases come to be mishapen? I have one... it's a bit wild though; I'm thinking perhaps many of these miniatures are getting kicked around from country to country and perhaps transversing zones with greatly contrasting temperature? The RPGA pieces, based D&DC* seem to be particularly the worst effected and not just the latter ones. I have here a bag of D&DC6 - Duergar Warrior, an Archfiends repaint all of which have bent, manky bases. Anyone? Any ideas? |
