| Well if it will help any of us get the minis back that we deserve or at least our trades completed I would be happy to serve as "Middleman". I have been on the maxminis boards since the beginning (Harbinger days), and I have many succesful trades.
So if the kid wants to send them to me then we'll get this straightened out. Looks like we have a list of what everybody sent. I know some of you don't want a middleman, but this may be the only way we are going to get anything back...I'm tired of more excuses and strories of lightning strikes...LOL Let's get on with it. As a professional astrologer, I'd like to see Lance's birth chart just to see what kind of transits he's having...must be some rough cosmic weather in his chart...anyone able to dig up his birth data? I need time, date, and place...maybe Lance will supply it on here, and I can give him a little counciling on overcoming the shadow with the light...
Anyway, if he agrees to send them to me, I'm sure we can collectively work this out. I promise to do my best to get everbody their minis. By the way I loved the stat card!

| I suggest you guys organize. I think the middleman plan is a bad one; you just set yourselves up for a whole new set of problems:
"Hey, all the figures aren't here!" "I was supposed to get 2x DCoL...I got none!" "I'm the middleman, and I never received my package!"
You've seen how it's been to date. Not much reason to expect things to go differently this time around.
If you organize--rather than each pursue your own course of action against -Lance---you stand the best chance of resolving the problem in the most broadly satisfying way. Create a "task-force" to initiate a letter-writing campaign (snail mail letters, to the household). Or appoint a spokesperson with excellent communication and diplomacy skills to act as a representative to the parents, giving them all the information (URLs of *this* forum, background, etc.). Work together.
If you each act on your own behalf, there's very little power. Scare tactics and "deadlines" have not worked at all. A consolidated, organized effort going "over his head," if you will, will be way more effective.

That's why I said that the one that should get the packet should have witness, or preferably two when he fetches the packet and opens it and goes through the list when looking at the contents. And there is delivery modes that can prove if a packet has been sent, or picked up, to protect the sender's side too - which isn't too much trusted right now. But now, things have changed.
Again one date has passed - I've used too much time, heard too much lies and bulls**t to be content only by receiving my minis back. I'm ready to help however I can whatever legal processes is going to be taken. It may be difficult for me to take any straight actions from here, but on the other hand, international crime may actually make things worse for this scam. | I talked to my father in law, a police officer, and he says that you need to file a complaint with your local PD, if they will take it at all. If they dont want to, then you are scewered.
If they DO take the complaint, then it will get filed and a warrant will be put out for the individual. But this is only a misdemeanor and it will go no where.
However if enough of us do this and succeed, then our good friend Lance may have potential hassles to deal with later in life when he grows up into an adult.

| I notice that most of you believe me to be lying about my computer being fried, either way Best Buy said my computer gets back in less than a week so I can remain in constant communication from that point on. (Though if this plan works out, we won't need too)
Villiam, I got your letter yesterday. I went through the minis, organized what I had, tried to trade for what I didn't and came up finding I had everything you listed in the letter except these miniatures:
1x Drow Cleric of Lolth 2x Ogre Ravager 1x Orc Champion 1x Eye of Gruumsh 2x Orc Warrior 1x Champion of Yondolla 1x Purple Dragon Knight 1x Warforged Fighter
Everything else from the 16 users you listed (including yourself I have) I can offer reimbursement miniatures from what's left of my collection for what's listed above, here's what I have for that purpose:
1x Mindflayer Telepath 1x Crow Shaman 1x Inspiring Marshall 1x Goliath Barbarian 1x Centaur Hero 1x Couatl 1x Aspect of Nerull 1x Achaierai 2x Dire Bear 1x Forest Troll
If we can work something out I can put these into a box with DC, insurance, anything it needs and ship it to a trustworthy individual asap and essentially get 16 people off my back. Please let me know, I'll be online until about 11:00 a.m. Central Time today (It's 8:45 a.m. at the moment) After that I'll try to get on again on Thursday or Friday and see what the general consensus is.
What I desire the most is for this to be over with, so please let me know on this site in a timely manner. Thanks,
-Lance

| | How about you put all of our minis in thier own boxes and send them out with DC#'s to each person that you owe. I highly doubt that they would all get lost again and it would resolve the issue faster than using a middle man. I am sure that after several months you have been able to save up enough money to do this since you have the extra money for some CD's. So send out our minis now. | | Sucessful trade with: Peaches, Count Dooku, Tirwin, WarGolem, mattjuarez, Thom, Yukon Cornelius | |

| I actually believe him this time, because I addressed the letter to his mother, with signature confirm and I saw it was delivered yesterday. :)
I think instead of offering one huge lot and letting someone else figure out what goes to whom, send the minis back now that you can. Since out of the long list Iposted it appears you can get alot of stuff back to most people. If there is someone who you can fully reimburse now, do them first. Then once they are done go to the people that you have to give them something else. Just work your way down the list giving them back what they sent you, and then telling them what you have left to fill the gap in the missing mini(s) that you cant replace.
You have to start somewhere, its not going to be an easy thing to deal with, but the sooner you start the better.

| Ok after looking at the list I have, and what you said you were missing, you should be able to give the following people ALL of the minis back they sent you:
dm5 brazenwood arbados gordonboom Yukon Cornelius Sean Khan BuddyLSavage asteroidjawa Archmage7 moebigsley Myself
Im sure you have lots of emails from all of us, so getting our addresses to return these shouldnt be too tough for you.
That would leave 5 people on the list that you would have to work with on getting them sufficient replacement minis.

| That works for me, I want back what I sent or what I should have recieved. If I get either, I will consider the matter closed (for my part).
Lance, no one wants this to stop more than you do, but the rest of us are close behind. I personally can't stand dealing with it. Make good on your trades or return our stuff. No half-solutions or compromises are going to be acceptable anymore.

| Glad to see people are putting their feet down on this. If people start accepting shortchanged trades and sub-par trading arrangements (i.e., sending everything to one person), the integrity of this entire trading environment is compromised.
Everyone should be held to the same standard, and if a disputed trade comes along, the solution should not be to let the irresponsible party slide in order to get some semblance of your original trade back. If we want Maxminis to persist and thrive, it is important to make certain that it doesn't gain a reputation as a place where one can harvest rare minis from people, flake on their own end of the deal, and then just send back some percentage of what is owed. It is our collective responsibility to be more enforcing of the standards, I think.
This matter should be resolved on the *victims'* terms, not the violator's.
One could argue that I am uninvolved in this, as I have no disputed trades with -Lance-. The fact is, though, we are *all* involved, since -Lance's- actions--his irresponsibility, his poor communication, his lies, his faux "resolutions" to the matter--threaten to undermine the climate of trust which makes online trading function. When people like -Lance- are not forced to account for the things they've done, we all lose. So I *do* have a stake in this.
-Lance- flaked on my trade with him back in April. Eventually, he made legitimately good on it. Would I trade with him again? No way. Did or do I believe his story about the minis getting lost in the mail? No way. Do I believe his current story? No way. Do I believe that he earnestly wants to make good on this? No way. Re-read the history of this dispute, and cross-reference it with his blog. This is has been a deception all along, categorized by the laziest disregard for us and our trading community.
If we care about the integrity of Maxminis, we will use every means possible to make -Lance- live up to his end of these trades. It is *completely* reasonable to expect all your minis back, and where those minis are no longer available, to get money orders from -Lance- for the current Zenako's price guide value of those minis. Anything short of that should be regarded as unacceptable.

| One more thing: -Lance- keeps indicating that these offers of his are the best he can do. When you're considering your options, remember that these are *not* the best he can do--these are the best he *wants* to do. Flynnal made many excellent suggestions as to how -Lance- could get the funds together to truly make good on this mess, and the list could be expanded.
-Lance- is not without resources or options. He just has to have a reason to take his obilgations seriously. So far, he has no reason to think he can't get away with this, and he will keep crying victim as long as he is indulged.

My postal address was sent to you in a recent email. Let me know when the minis are on the way.
Thank you. -Kumag

| Krush and Sean-Khan: The reason I deleted your posts and blocked yours and others accounts from my Xanga blog is pretty simple: It's my blog, where I post the in's and out's of my day to day life. The people who do post on it are my close friends. It kind of ruins it when you guys take a problem that should be dealt with through either this site, email, or the mail and post it all over my entries.
As far as who's using your account you created on Xanga Krush...I don't know. Not me though, I don't really have a reason to pretend I'm you. Though it doesn't seem you're using it for anything but posting on my Xanga anyway.
I'm sorry if this upsets any of you, but there are some areas of my life on the internet that I don't want you guys involved in. I'm taking positive steps to resolving the issue and I'd like it very much if you guys would allow me to rather than posting about it on my Xanga.
I would like to say thank you to you guys for your extreme patience during this entire ordeal. I really appreciate it, even if it doesn't seem that way. I really hope this can be resolved soon.

Not to be a prude but once you post something on the internet, I'm afraid it does become public access in one way or another. A perfect example would be you yourself posting your phone number on your site. It isn't really that hard to figure out what your area code is from where you live. Also you may remember, we do have a completed trade. One than took a little over a week. I thank you for that. I may be upset that somebody is using my username on Xanga but none the less it's my trading name. The long and short of it is this. Are you surprised that folks posted on your site from Maxmini's? I think they had a right to do so. You said youself you post about your daily life, unfortunatly what was posted directly involved your daily life. I have followed this from the beginning and I truly would like to see it finished in a positive way.

I'm sorry if this upsets any of you, but there are some areas of my life on the internet that I don't want you guys involved in. I'm taking positive steps to resolving the issue and I'd like it very much if you guys would allow me to rather than posting about it on my Xanga. -Lance
As to the question "Am I suprised?"...no, not really. (Once you see how low someone will sink over a hunk of plastic that was lost in the mail...it's hard to be) And if they think they have a right to post, then I have just as much a right to delete those posts and block them. Concerning the blog being public, I never said it wasn't. But it is mine, and I will decide who can or cannot post there. So if I ask nicely for you and others from the boards to stop posting there, I don't think it's too much to ask. If it is, then I can continue to block and delete post, it's not hard.
If I'm coming off as angry, it's because I am. I don't like being followed or harassed over half the internet. Especially when I'm trying to fix the situation. So please, just let me, and keep the comments and questions to this site or email. Thanks,
-Lance

Villiam: I need your address as well.
Update: I will be able to ship 8 packages by this Friday with DC. I know that isn't everyone's minis, but it's definitely a good start and I think sending even a little bit would help to prove my intentions to make good on the situation. Rather than waiting to send everyones at once. Then next week I'll ship some more.

Emailed you my address. You can't be serious. You are still playing the part of the aggrieved, battered party?
You are probably right, it's completely reasonable to take months to resolve this situation. We should all calm down, these 'hunks of plastic' are only worth a little over a $1000.00. Besides, you have been nothing but honest and forthright with us in all of your dealings. It's not like you tried to rip us off, right?
Pay us our pound of flesh plastic and be done with it. Then you can slink back to your blog.

| Here here, moebigsley.
I know everyone's excited at the *prospect* of -Lance- returning your minis, but let's keep in mind who the victim is here. It sure isn't the guy who's been sitting on a $1000 heap of your miniatures and blowing off your earnest, pleading emails since April. The victim is--or rather the victims *are* the honest participants of this trading community.
Not to mention the rest of us. I for one am far more cautious about how I conduct my trades since this -Lance- fiasco.
And let's not forget: -Lance- has yet to send back any minis. The fact that he's actually responding to emails and posts seems to go a long way with those that have been waiting on their reparations, but don't hold your breath that things will pan out. It appears to me that mystery and misfortune accompany an uncanny percentage of -Lance's- dealings with the Maxminis community.
