| | I am glad to see that Lance is attempting to rectify all his trades and the bad situation at hand. I understand that all of us have been fueled about this and rightfully so. I have been infuriated at the amount of time this took and was all about ready to give up hope. However, I have to at least say that what he is doing in trying to get this all worked out so long after the initial trades where made is a respectable thing. We all know that there are others out there who have scammed us (Chaotic Good, Ironfist Boulderbender, Thayil) who have never even responded to any emails or inquiries sent to them. They have disappeared and failed to even communicate. Even though this was a very bad situation at least we can feel that Lance has been in contact with us on the boards and has tried to get things worked out. Maybe this will be a lesson to him in the future and a one which is well learned. Continue rectifying all your trades Lance and maybe in doing this the memebers here at maxminis will give you another chance. | |

| [:0] I am truly impressed to see this disaster coming to an end for all parties involed. Sure it has taken -lance- a loooooong time to finish his end but I cannot support welcoming him back into the community for reasons which are obvious. I count myself as one of the lucky ones when I traded with him.
His reasons will always be his own.
For those who have traded with my son (Jr) know his trades get done. I hope as he gets older, he knows what not to do as -lance- has done.
-Lance- I truly hope you have learned your lesson regarding this mess. I have no further comment as I am a parent and what I would say, I won't. I like this site too much to get banned. | |

| To rule out the possibility that -Lance- might be giving us more of his patented run-around, I have emailed BuddyLSavage, Dm5, jono, gordonboom, and Thatoneguy myself to request that they send their contact info to -Lance-.

This is just meant to be a neutral comment: I make it a habit of keeping all emails relating to any outstanding trade in my email account until the trade is completed. I set up a folder for each trade and delete it only when the trade is defintely complete on both sides.
I don't know any reason why I would delete an email with someone's address if the trade wasn't complete. | |

That's good advice. I do that as well plus keep a spreadsheet of all the important trade data: names, addresses emails, who's sending what, when I sent, DC#s, when I receive, etc.

If Jono gives me the go-ahead, I will post his email here in order to postpone -Lance- calling me a liar.
Since we won't hear from him until this weekend (at the earliest, I imagine), anyone want to place bets on what -Lance's- latest tragic fabrication is? I'm guessing something with a diamond smuggling ring, a Hungarian cat burglar, and a lady of affluence masquerading as a chimney sweep.

Because I can do what I like with my money and had it planned before this ordeal ever occured. In other news, the money hasn't arrived yet but I expect it to be here by Monday at the latest. I'll keep you all updated.

Hey now...cut Lance some slack...because he can do what he likes with his money. It's not like Lance agreed to trade the minis, or agreed to send them back 4 months ago, and then agreed to send them back 3 months ago, and then agreed to send them back 2 months ago, and then agreed to send them back 1 month ago.
I understand where you're coming from, Lance. Every year I receive a letter from the federal government asking me to pay taxes, but hey, I can do what I want with my money...and they're cool about it too. Sure, they make reference to the fact that I agreed to abide by the rules of their land when I decided to live and work in America, but I can do what I want with my money. I just tell them that the $100 I owed in taxes was already allotted for buying 3 kegs of Hamm’s when my friends showed up. Of course the IRS will understand…I mean, it’s Hamm’s.
Your paltry excuses and inveterate malingering highlight how much you don’t care about the situation. Maxminis is a community that thrives largely on the good faith and integrity of its users. We have no standard protection program where we can recoup some of our loses, or a fraud investigation team to help with the situation—and you have been maliciously exploiting this since week 2. Your petty filching would land you in jail with the IRS, get you harassed endlessly by credit card companies (and destroy your credit rating), get you launched from any house you are renting or buying...but thank god for you this is not one of those situations. Instead, you’ve just been taking advantage of everyone because because it’s a pain to file internet fraud charges as a group against a 17 year old and because the people on this board are nice people who don’t want to see a burgeoning Lance Wilson criminal record. And this is exactly why you should be ashamed of yourself. It’s not like you’re ripping off Wal-Mart or Nike to make a political statement about their employee wages or conditions…you’re ripping off honest gamers who just want their minis back—but hey:

Your willingness to cooperate is hauntingly touching. We all know that 6 months ago you set aside the $25 entrance fee for the magic pre-release gathering…I mean, it may take you three weeks to find a post office and mail off addressed packages, but planning for an event 6 months in advance, any simpleton could do. Most people don’t even plan vacations that far in advance.
The fact of the matter is that you chose to spend your money on something other than returning people’s property…the magic pre-release event wasn’t even scheduled before this “ordeal” began. Every single participant in this ordeal has sacrificed time and money trying to get you to return their property, and here we are, 6 months later, you still won’t sacrifice a goddamn thing. What have you sacrificed? $1500 in the Nevada USPS DDM caper of the year? Piss off. Your time? Not likely…maybe a post once a week to make sure people aren’t taking legal action against you. If it sounds like they’re organizing, your surly attitude morphs into a conciliatory façade, but once sttmxn or Corim Danex leave you alone, you return to your peevish, petulant demeanor. Your money? For all we know, there’s a chance you have MADE money off of this travesty. After the -Lance- commendation thread General Discussion got rolling, I expected the worst. After -Lance- petulantly whined about my "sick need" to villainize him, and melodramatically proclaimed that "the show is over"--all over a backdrop of optimistic community applause--I completely expected him to call it a day on his unresolved obligations, raise high his middle-finger flag, and walk off into the sunset of snickering self-indulgence.
And I was right. Despite -Lance-'s endless protestations that I am a minority of one out to vilify him, the fact is that many of us can see that this guy is a liar and a thief. Even as I have intentionally remained quiet over the past couple weeks, people have come forth to make their frustration known. -Lance- had finally gotten around to at least simulating taking these thefts seriously by sending a few packages back...but all it took was one pat-on-the-back thread to get him back to blowing off his obligations. I don't blame those who commended him--they only believed in the best. I only blame -Lance-.
I said it before (in the aforementioned thread from General Discussion), that -Lance-'s bursts of responsibility have a way of losing momentum. Those of you who doubted my judgment or think me harsh, check out the evidence by reading all of these threads. Once we got off his back, -Lance- went back to dismissing this whole affair. He can "do what [he] want[s] with [his] money?" Guess he doesn't "want" to send checks for the monetary value of what he's stolen...even though that would end all this flat out. And what happened to "thanks for your patience" and the fierce apologies? Funny how, that kinder, gentler -Lance- dried up with the public pressure. And he's gone now. Gone, until it's convenient for him to come back and check to make sure no one's actually trying to make him undo his fraud.
Flynnal, you are spot on, as in your previous posts. Myself, I have nothing left to say to -Lance-. His responses are always the same defensive whimpers and transparent lies. He will make me and his critics out to be lying about him; again, I encourage those skeptical of the criticisms to read the related threads and judge for yourselves. It's an insult to my own intelligence to pursue engaging him directly. Everything I am saying, I am addressing to the community, and to those who remain stuck in the middle of -Lance-'s scam:
-Lance- has cashed in his credibility. At this point, to take -Lance- at his word, one must have either infinite patience, or infinite self-deception. He does not respect the Maxminis community; he does not respect you. Begging, pleading, and even steadfastly demanding that -Lance- return your minis will amount to nothing.
The only recourse is to continue legal action, and to also work through his parents. I encourage those of you defrauded by -Lance- to finish submitting your legal information to be relayed to the FBI (see previous posts for Corim Danex's volunteer effort in this regard). Flynnal's letter-writing campaign is a good complement to the legal action being coordinated by Corim Danex. It's easy enough for everyone to send a letter to his home each week explaning the situation and demanding recompense. It's almost as easy, I daresay, and taking a few packages to the post office (apparently one of the hardest tasks in Missouri history).
Don't frustrate yourself by trying to negotiate with -Lance-. He never took any of this seriously--or any of you seriously--in the first place. Nobody who took this the least bit seriously would have these kinds of problems resolving the matter. Put pressure on the points that respond: the law, and his guardians. | |

| Hello -lance- do you have a reply or high school taking up too much time. There is a day of the week called Sat-ur-day, the post office is opened so you can mail packages. 6 x $2= $12 plus dc so under $20, that is what it would take you to finish this mess and not have your parents involved in this.
I, myself am still conducting trades even though I am having issues with the IRS. I believe I have said this before, responsiblilty, I assume that is a word not in your vocabulary. Do yourself a favor, quit embarressing yourself and suck it up.
I agree with sttmxn, I do hope legal action is taken against you, obviously nothing else is working. | |

| You're totally right on the money, Krush. Thing is, it's a waste of time elucidating the matter for him. -Lance- knows how much he owes people. He knows how much it costs to send things back, and how easy it would be to do it. He just doesn't care.
At this point in the game, explaining to -Lance- how in the wrong he is just gives him material to extend his continuum of fraud with pouting and lying. As a community, we need to just work around him by going directly to the law and the adults in his life.
I will join flynnal in a letter campaign. Anybody who supports this restitution effort should do the same. Meanwhile, Corim Danex will continue to gather the legal data. | |
