Well, this just gets more and more sordid. And now another member of the community has, amazingly, chosen to risk being sullied by it.
I'm not saying that [Name edited out at users request] necessarily did anything wrong or illegal. I AM saying that [Name edited out at users request] made a serious error in judgement by buying minis from Our Little Lancey, since [Name edited out at users request] has no way of knowing how those minis were obtained, and reason to suspect chicanery. It is possible that [Name edited out at users request] could get in serious hot water if and when legal action is brought against -Lance- by the people he has ripped off. The Authorities take a dim view of that sort of thing.
If I were one of the people cheated by -Lance- I would demand nothing less than the exact set of minis I sent or the exact set of minis I expected, since he apparently is selling minis now for cash. I concur that people need to 1) press legal action against -Lance- and 2) contact Lance's Mommy and put pressure on her as well. This stank before, and it is REALLY stinking now.
As for [Name edited out at users request], some of us DID see your name before -Lance- edited it out. I won't be buying from you or trading with you again in the future. Again, not because you necessarily did anything wrong, but I don't want to potentially tangle myself in this as well. We had a good trade in the past, but now you've got the spoor on you now as well. That was a major lapse in judgement.
I am so very thankful I never tried to trade with -Lance-. What a mess.

| While I feel the same discomfort about that sale that you do, kyrin, I just want to shift the emphasis back to -Lance- in regards to that sale: we've been told repeatedly by -Lance- that he doesn't play minis anymore, that he has experienced "loss," that he doesn't even have any minis because he's had to send so many back to people, and that what he has left are boxed up to return to people...suddenly he has $90 worth to sell? And wasn't that $90 supposed to be used to send the last batch of minis? What happened to that initiative? Dried up and vanished. There's no youthful error in judgment here; -Lance- just decided he had gotten away with it and slunk back into the shadows.
So, while I would never in a million years have done with [Name edited out] chose to do, it should not be disregarded that the real criminal here is -Lance-.
If he chooses to chime in ever again, -Lance- will surely contest the facts of all this, figuring that most Maxminis folks don't retain a mental history of this charade the way I and a few others do, and won't take the time to read the whole nasty saga. And he would be right--most people are not following every twist and turn the way that people with a "sick need" like me do. But if you do read this thread, you will see all the inconsistencies and contradictions, and why there should be no doubt that this defrauding of our community was and is wholly willful and malicious.
No one should kid themselves that this is a case of "life happens." I encourage everyone who supports those being defrauded to take the time to write and send a letter demanding compensation for the remaining 6 victims. | |

Wait a minute...so you're angry at Adam and kid #2 because they said they'd show up, but didn't? You rip on two kids because they failed to live up to their agreements for one afternoon, and yet you have failed, and continue to fail, to live up to your agreement for the past 6 months. Not only do you owe us an apology, it would behoove you to apologize to Adam and kid #2 as well…your execrable malfeasance is at least 180 times worse than theirs.
And come on, buddy. You were online yesterday but chose not to post an update. You are choosing to go play magic all night tonight and not remedy the situation. What time is school out? Is it out at 3? If not 3, what time? The Nevada post office is open until 5:15 pm, so unless you have another debate meeting, you can probably make it to the post office. If you do have another debate meeting, what time is it finished? Judging by the poor turnout of yesterday's meeting, it probably won't last very long, so you'll probably have time to hit up the post office. What time does magic start? If it starts at 5, show up a little late. If it starts at 6, then you should be able to go to the post office. If you have a car, drive yourself there. If you don't have a car, ask your mother, stepfather, or brother. If they won't, explain to them the situation...they'll find out anyway when they start receiving demand letters and printed copies of this entire thread next week. If there is no way in hell to make it to the post office, make sure the last 6 packages are ready to go. Now, what are you doing tomorrow morning? The post office is open from 10-12, so you should be able to get there. If you can't make it, why not? If your mother, step-father, or brother won't drive you, why not? Can you get a ride from someone else? If you can't, why not? If you're planning on sleeping in, then change your plans. If you're planning on going to Joplin/Kansas City/anywhere other than the post office, then change your plans to involve hitting the post office between 10-11:30 am (just to be safe...despite their alleged $1500 thievery, many other people trust in the USPS, so it might be crowded). If you're planning on doing anything other than going to the post office on Saturday morning, then change your plans. If you're tired of being treated like an incompetent child, then fix the situation by mailing the packages.
I'm sure the six people you owe packages to would like to be blogging next week, “it’s Friday, and I get to go play DDM all night...with the minis I bought and paid for."

No more excuses and random bullshit. I'm a horrible person, blah, blah. I haven't come here, not for lack of time, but for lack of giving a shit. I've been busy, but not too busy to actually ship this stuff. I guess with the upcoming ACT test date, debate tournaments, and major surgery in less than a month...I've found more important things for my mind to dwell on.
I'm going to stop by Wal-Mart tomorrow night or Sunday and pick up some 6x6 boxes to put these in, then I'll probably ship them on Monday, since I won't be in town Friday or Saturday and Thursday after school I do have Speech & Debate. Yeah, it's an excuse, but it's a real, legitimate excuse.
So expect to see DCs Monday night central time, until then refrain from your letter sending spree and posting on my Xanga. If you want to contact me, email is the best way.

And you've dragged him into this. And now I've got somebody on my trading list, whom I had a very good trade with the first time, that I can't trade with now, because he got involved with YOU. This has already set a VERY bad precedent on maxminis. Someone coming onto this board with intent to scam will see this thread and think one thing:
These people are suckers.
Potential scammers will realize (quite correctly) that they can take peoples' mini and either a) not give them ANYTHING in return or b) send them minis of lesser value to mollify them with the thought that they will "at least get something."
The only possible result of letting this little... so-and-so get away with this will be more scamming. You should settle for NOTHING LESS than your original deal: either the minis you sent, or the minis you agreed on originally. Settling for anything less sets a VERY bad precedent.
PLEASE... show him what "Legal Action" is all about...

Well, I guess we'll see what happens on Monday. You have said many times that you'll send the minis, so I'm not putting too much stock into what you're saying now...but I'll hold off and choose my course of action after the 17th.

Sorry Lance. What I've done is not harassment, no matter how ignorant, stupid, and pathetic you think I am. Civilly informing your parents by mail of your attempt at criminal activity does not qualify as harassment. At this point, no one knows if your parents even know what is going on. I'm sure they would A)like to know if you are about to be brought up on charges with the FBI or selling stolen property, and B)like to avoid the issue, especially if the answer lies in $15 worth of shipping. If they feel the need, they can post their objections on the board, and I'm sure they will be shown the same respect that everyone who isn't trying to steal is shown. You say "trust me," and the community did, and now 6 people are still waiting for their property back 6 months later. How can you expect anyone on this board to trust you now? You can prove me wrong though...
Hopefully this will all be taken care of on Monday...if not, another avenue may need pursuing.

| I'm not holding my breath. How many times have we been through this? Believe me, I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm still not convinced -Lance- has the minis to send back, even if he wanted to.
Presuming we see no DCs tonight--and I am most certainly presuming we will not--my civil, non-harassing letters go out tomorrow. Funny how easy it is to get to the post office if something is important to you.

| Hey, sorry for the delay, my mom shipped them and just got home about an hour ago. DC wasn't available for the 2 packages sent to Canada (gordonboom, jono) but was available for the other 4 (thatoneguy, dm5, BuddyLSavage, and brazenwood) Here are the the DC's (I'm not sure which one is for which, since my mom said the guy didn't give her a reciept just the blank DC slips) The guy that helped her ship them is a client of hers so she is going to go in tomorrow to see if she can get the reciept so we can identify which of these DCs belong to each user.

In my book, -Lance-'s name is pretty much permanently trashed. From my perspective, no one gets a pinata party for finally, reluctantly returning part of the property he stole because third-party advocates (us) ratted him out to his mommy.

| Hell has finally frozen over! I went out to check my mail and there it was! A package from none other than Lance..! WoW! I can't beleive it!
It's been 6 and a half months since that fateful night, when he tried to swindle a Boba Fett outta me, but I was like no way.
Thanks Lance for finally following through. You've been removed from the criminal list, but are still on the irresponsible list. I would only trade again if you sent first and it all arrived in good time, within a week. If it got here late, I'd wait a month to ship em for each day past a week.
Lance has redeemed himself, but there must be consequences in my book. | |

Haha, dude I'm the one who packaged them, addressed them, and paid for shipping. She just took them to the post office for me since she was going already.

| The funny thing was that I was hoping so much to complete two sets with my trade with Lance back in April...
I needed the Gold Dragon and a Luke Jedi...I ended up getting both from other sources later that same month, but still here was the original trade...this is what he offered...

I sent him those three expecting a medium Gold Dragon and a Luke, Jedi...and ended up with a Probe Droid (returned), a Count Dooku (Which I already have), and a Shaak Ti from Star wars. So basically I traded a Frenzied Berseker (one of the best pieces in the Game and a Harbinger rare Cleric of Gruumsh, for a frickin Shaak Ti...LOL

Ah, the irony: can anyone else remember -Lance-'s adamant requests to keep his mum out of "his" affair?
At least his Mum can make the "hour-long" trip to the post office; certainly is easier than a trip from the White Grill...
Having the minis packed and addressed doesn't mean that they are going anywhere; and if they are, it's probably to "Trader X" for cash.
I, too, am glad the packages are at looooooooooooong last arriving.
Anyway, just had to add my 2 ep to the local soap opera before the final season ends (mind you, I suppose there are always re-run-arounds...).
