| Well... with failure to reply to my last lot of emails, and his website 'misteriously' being down since the time of my recent emails, I have decided to chase up my parcels/items the only way I have open to me.
Strongbow Lone Eagle is hereby notified.
International Mail Fraud proceedings will be held agains him as of 30 minutes time. I am on my way to the post office right now, to file mail fraud charges against him with the Australian Postal Service, and am also looking into involving the Australian Federal Police.
My 2 outstanding trades have stretched over the last 9 months, and I am now going to act. If 9 months isn't long enough for a person to get their affairs in order then what is?

9 months is a joke. It is one thing to stick up for someone when everything seems to be lost, but to have that person shaft me as well, that is not on. In case Strongbow (or anyone else for that matter) thinks it is possible to screw with poeple who are 'across the lake' and get away with it, well think again. I will recieve my parcels, or at the very least recieve monetary re-imbursement. Strongbow Lone Eagle, I am one person who your scam IS NOT going to work on.

| Wow what has just been posted by DarkFather. However I agree. My 4 trades w/CG were at best worriesome.
The 2nd was the worst, 3 months to complete.
NO trade should take that long within the US. I have been trading on this site for almost a year and CG was the only member that was a problem for me.
For me personally I hesitated to trade w/cg at first, his rep and problems with DF at the time. May be I was feeling jitters. 1st trade took 2 weeks to complete. 2nd 3 months after much "bitching" on my part. Trades 3 and 4, completed without accurate dc numbers. These trades did take longer than expected. The 4th was met a smart email stating,
"You have rec'd but where is mine? I sent over a week ago" I purposely waited until I had rec'd. Ny end was sent and he had rec'd, I cut the line soon after that.
That is my trading stew with Cg in a crock pot.
Dude (Strongbow) your rep in is the toilet! My son has decided to cancel his pending trade with you. WHY? No response from you, nothing nadda zero zip!
Messing with adults is one thing but a 13 yr old is a different thing. MY 13 YR OLD!
Whatever problems you are having, do us a favor take care of those, THEN take care of your outstanding trades. Only you can take care of your mess, nobody else.

I will definitely keep you in mind, if/when I get any Angelfire (CG's SCAM has really put me off trading, even purchasing anymore DDM.)
I have decided to declare my trade with DPoppink as complete. While there was a small problem with his minis not getting to me, we (CG, DPoppink, & myself) arranged for CG to cover the missing miniatures. It is not (in my eyes) DPoppink's fault that CG has defaulted on the agreed arrangement. So a quick message for DPoppink...
I have declared our trade complete in the appropriate threads. I will gladly trade with you again any time (if I get back into trading that is).

| Ok I cave in as well could anyone give me the low down on how hard it is to file fraud with these? I did not keep my DC# on the package I sent, but I did get it so is it on hold there? I lost about $100 in the deal is that enough? And if I win what do I get out of it?

| What I find more troubling than getting screwed on a trade is that he claimed to another poster that he came to my house and threatened me to get miniatures from me. He claimed this in all seriousness as far as I can tell.
Does anyone live out his way? Perhaps a visit to see what the heck is going on, is in order. | |

| I have traded with, and was not scammed by CG, and have no idea what's going on with him - I still have trouble believing he did all this in his right mind. Having a form of bipolar disorder myself, I've got a suspicion that there's something like that behind this.
That said, here is a piece of data just to add to the mix - he also gave me the line about having sent and that he was resending. All told, the number of minis he claims to have lost in the mail is staggering. If anyone needs an affidavit from me to confirm that the "lost in the mail" thing represents a pattern, I'll sign an affidavit to that effect (I may have gotten my minis from innocently mentioning that I'm a lawyer...) | |

| As I follow the soap "What the hell is up with CG?" saga. As before with my rant earlier posted, not coming thru on promises regardless of who you are trading with is not very cool.
After much thought there is a possibly that CG's issues may involve more . I've had many "chats" with him online until the issues started with him. To make a statement regarding his mental state would not be right as I am not a doctor, I believe there are powers at work beyond our control.
As previously stated by me it is still up to CG to come forward and make right the trading issues that he has and by him only.

I'll say there is a pattern... there always seems to be an external force at work that effects CG's control of his trades and cause them to go awry.
Some of you might not have been around in the early days of maxmini's when there was a housemate of CG's that was using his computer to make trades and scam people with CG's account. Hmmm....
Some others come to mind: "rogue" postal worker, incapacitating work accidents, postal system in general (UPS isn't that bad it couldn't be)... I know there are others.
Things that make you go hmmm...

he said he resent a different assortment of, pre-agreed apon, minis mid February because he couldn't replace the books and some of the original minis, and being the generous person I am I sent him a small package with a few more minis to thank him. I never received anything from either of his shipments but he received everything I sent. Like many he said he was going to resend again at the end of May but I have lost contact with him since then. I hope this information is helpful for anyone trying to take legal persuit and if there's any other info needed feel free to E-mail me and I'll do what I can to help. Hopefully we'll see an end to this before the end of the year.

| To answer a few questions about trade histories.
I had completed 10 or 11 trades with CG since the beginning, but those were mostly back in 2003 and 2004 times frames. At one time we were the only two large lot traders, (so we had few options if looking to move 100 minis at a time). More large traders emerged over the past year or so. I have not traded with him for quite some time, so all my transactions predate the problems of the past year.
CG often had many unclosed transactions in his listing of trade activity that I was actively maintaining last year up until this spring and he at times had 30 or 40 trades that had not been reported as closed. Now he did have a few hundred other trades that were completed, but it did at times seem that he had way too many irons in the fire at once to keep good track of. It also seemed from my persepective that at times he was trading for tradings sake, to engage in the give and take of negotiations, and dicker. That the actual hunks of paper and plastic were only a means to an end, not the end in and of themselves.
My opinion (and it is only an opinion), is that this was not a planned collapse, but something that just overtook him as he continued to accumulate more and more unclosed issues, but since his focus was on the trading, not the actual trade, he just kept going and dickering and dealing. Eventually the sheer volume of problems grew to the point where it became overwhelming to try and resolve and as his reputation took more and more hits from unsatisfied trade partners, it became harder and harder for him to engage in his passion of trading (for good reason) and eventually one just turns to shut out that part of ones life that is overwhelming. Compound this with other life problems, which if the stories we have heard are all true, have the makings of a good FOX reality series, and the demise of the persona known as Chaotic Good on maxminis (and elsewhere) could readily be predicted.
I do not defend him, he has had more than enough time to address his myriad unresolved issues, but at the same time I don't consider him a scammer per se. I reserve that label for people who with a premediated intent set out to rip people off. The end results may not be any different to the victims, but the underlying motivation was. In courts of law, motivation is a very important factor in judging the level of the crime one is accused of and controls the charges filed.
Merric, if this has strayed too far afield for this thread, move it, but I felt I needed to chime is a little bit. I can dig up the last listing I have of trade status and what had been reported, but that is many months out of date at this point. | |

Can someone please send me CG's mailing address? I'm negotiating a trade with a new member from New York whose emails have been written very similar to CG's communcation style. He promised to send first and then send me the dc# as proof, now he is asking me to send at the same time, then he'll send the dc#. I want to make sure the addresses don't match. I would hate to send him more minis. Thanks for your help.

I think that is just a bug in Hordelings' system. The "Dear WotC" forum keeps saying he posted within the last 24 hours, but no new posts are up by Strongbow / CG. | |

That's just a bug (and one I've fixed "in the lab", just need time to verify and push it!). CG has not been active on Hordelings in several weeks (about the same time he disappeared here -- his last post was on June 24th).

As much as I think some of us want to give him a piece of our minds, I don't think a phone call would do any good as far as getting our property back. CG is clearly aware of what he has done and has no intentions of trying to make restitution. If you can rip off your last friend on the boards (i.e. Darkfather) and kids your word means nothing-- that's coldblooded man. Filing mailfraud and joining legal action is the best thing to do.
I would be surprised if "Mr. Loneeagle" didn't try to sneak back on the boards or hoardlings now that Angelfire is out and try to make some trades. CG has a very distinctive writing style so I hope everyone is on guard. | |

I recieved an email from him at 3:32am (Aus time = GMT +10) this morning. It reads as follows....

My question is (not aimed at you DF)...........
Why can't CG just tell us this stuff himself??????? He has repeatedly hurt himself by being closed mouthed about this whole thing. He could have solved himself soooooo many problems by not being so secretive (for lack of a better word) about his situation.
If he had come on Maxminis and said stright up what was going on? what the holdups are? how long it might take to come through? He might not be banned from the boards right now and might not have earned him the vilification of a lot of people. | |

That said, something occurred to me today, someting that really makes me wonder what CG's motivations were all along...
Who recalls right after Christmas (I think), that CG started a thread about creating MaxMini's Merchandise? It came from no where, and at that time, I would have been prepared to send him a check or use PayPal for $20-30 bucks for hat's shirts, etc.
I'm glad that never came to fruition, otherwise, we'd ALL be out a lot more than we already are.
