| Ok. So it all got whiped out...Mistakes happen...We move on.
Im just thankful that my H/W list is still in one peice...I keep track of my inventory on this site only...I have no backup.
Same with my trade referances. I think I had about 70-something succesful trades...And I know for a fact I never had a single negative comment against me.
So is that gone forever? What do we do? | |

| Sorry, but this is absolute crap. How do you run a trading site, but wipe out everyone's trade references every year?!? They did the same damned thing last year too, and everyone had to start over from scratch. Now, without any feedback for anyone, this site is nothing but a haven for scam artists, and I don't feel safe trading with anyone here any longer unless they're going to send first.
What makes matters worse, is that the staff specifically stated that this particular forum section would for the most part remain intact, since it was the Feedback Forum. Yet despite their assurances, they wiped it out anyway. Brilliant. Stupid me for trusting you guys, and for not making a copy of my entire feedback thread like I carefully did for my trading thread last night.
I'll likely just be taking my trading back to WOTC.com and SWMG.com where feedback history is actually valued, and not summarily written off as "oh well, deal with it!"

The reference threads were never purged prior to this to my knowledge. When the the forums were archived last time all you had to do was go into the old forums link and copy and paste, at least that's what I did.

This was not an intentional wipe. If you didn't notice, the programmer expressed how terrible he felt about the accident and resigned. Now we don't have a programmer. Many of us are hoping that he will come back because he's done tremendous good for the site and really did not wipe the reference section on purpose. As was said before, last year the references were not wiped, but put in the "old forum" section which was still accessible until this morning. | |

| No, I hadn't noticed any apologies anywhere. I've only seen the "we're moving on, deal with it" comments, as the Star Wars Trading and Feedback forums are all that I visit here.
Yes, I realize the old forums (with feedback) could still be accessed in a very primitive form, but the only link that I had to my feedback from the first go 'round was in my feedback thread here that just got wiped out. So now I have neither, and most/all other traders here are in the same boat.
It's just beyond frustrating to have this entire site wiped out twice, in consecutive years. It gets to the point where you ask yourself, why do I even bother with this place knowing everything will be gone again next year, most likely...

Like I said, I hadn't seen any apologies or explanations anywhere as of my original posting above. I'd only seen several assurances last night that stuff wouldn't get wiped out, like exactly what's happened here, followed by several "oh well, get over it" comments this morning. Considering it's the second time in as many years, this is rather frustrating, especially in regards to the feedback section, which is vital on a trading board.

Hey glumag, why don't you go make a stink at everyone else who complained about things earlier today before knowing what happened, huh? If you don't want the negativity spreading, then shut up here. I'm more then free to post my concerns about the second deleting of the entire Maxminis feedback forum in as many years, especially when I was doing so before I realized it was just a (huge) mistake by Jai.
As far as blaming myself for this...? I don't think so. Yeah, it's my fault there's not a feedback forum here any more. Sure. That makes a helluva lot of sense. Instead of trying to be a prick about it and get in the last word here, try practicing what you preach, and stop spreading the negativity, eh?
I'm also well aware of how free public forums work, and that the community should be thankful for them, and not take them for granted. I'm the Forum Administrator at the second most active Star Wars collecting site on the Net. But thanks for the enlightening information anyway.
