Ok, system flush happened. Moving on, here is what will happen.

I will repost the last Price Guide from my info at home. I am in the process of recreating the new one anyway.

I can repost some of the old Trade Datalists, I still have that info on my spreadsheets at home. That will cover stuff through last spring, but nothing since then. (However we always had that gap in knowledge anyway.)

This makes the new trade interface more central to establishing a rep here in Maxminis 2 - The Next Generation.

Jai has accidentally given me much more time to do other stuff this weekend beyond trying to sort through hundreds or thousands of threads to figure out which to save/archive and which was not going to be saved. There is a silver lining in everything if you look for it.[:)]

Actually this will probably present an opportunity to streamline the forums significantly:

There's no longer a need for 2 disputed trades threads, 1 will do just fine.

We probably don't need a "report trades here" thread any longer because of the new trade interface.

etc...

Where are all of our feedback threads?!? As of last night, your sticky stated that they wouldn't be touched if they were "recent", so I specifically bumped mine up again so it would be safe and remain. Yet now it appears to have disappeared, along with everyone else's.

Furthermore, this is now the SECOND time that all the feedback (and everything else) has been wiped out from this site. How the heck are we supposed to know who's safe to trade with around here if you keep deleting everyone's feedback?

If there is any way at all of having my feedback link restored, please do so. Hopefully everyone else who requests it can have their's returned as well. Here's the link where my feedback was located:

http://maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=494

I could care less about the price guide. That's what eBay is for. The price guide here is usually way off anyway. But hopefully you guys can fix the feedback forum at the very least, since you had given us assurances that it would be the one place that would remain largely intact. Otherwise, this place is just a haven for scam artists, and will be too risky to be trading with most folks at anymore. I'll definitely feel much safer doing the majority of my SWM trading at WOTC.com and SWMG.com if you guys can't restore the feedback here.

Thanks.

- Matt

If you visited your ref thread recently it may be cached on your browser and able to be reposted

I visited it just last night to bump it up to make sure it wasn't deleted with some of the older stuff...

How do I find it in my cache, and restore it? If you could post some detailed instructions on how to do that, it'd be great.

If you have internet explorer.Click on the tools button up top in your taskbar.Select Internet options.Under the Heading Temporary Internet Files select Settings change preference to Never click ok then select Settings again click on view filesit will bring up a large list of stuff.Search through and look for Maxminis forums or posts for your ref thread...copy the info.Change the preference back from never to Always and paste the info into a new ref thread.

Hope this helps you. I suck with computers,Glumag had to help me do this or I would never have gotten my info back!

Thanks for the detailed instructions there, but unfortunately I'm on AOL. But judging by what I see you've restored in your own feedback thread, I take it you mean that it'll only bring back the initial post in it, and your former trading partners will still have to reply to it again... Is that right? If so, that won't help me much, since I didn't keep a cumulative list of my trade partners in it. I just had all my trade reference links there, and everyone just dropped their replies onto it after that. I only lost like 15 or so, but my greater concern is everyone else losing theirs, so now I'm not going to know who it's safe to trade with here. Can you imagine if eBay suddenly wiped out everyone's feedback? Same thing here, just on a far lesser scale, of course.

Anyway, I may just have to do it the hard way, and e-mail everyone I've traded with and ask for them to re-reference me in a new feedback thread...

Hear Hear. I am glad no one has called for his head...as it would be outrageous. Hopefully he'll come back.

Any word on a potential solution for AOL users?

By the way, it is much easier using Firefox than IE, as it generally is, but more specifically in this case.

If anyone is concern about who to trade with because of no references all they need to do is look at the "disputed trades" thread.

Solution for AOL users? besides switching to another service [)] AOL runs under IE as well, the options are the same just called something else: AOL Internet Properties.

Depending of your version of course.

I would urge everybody to check out the great advice given in the General Discussion section of searching Google and Yahoo caches to find your list, or at least the first page of it. Short answer: Search using the exact wording of the title of your reference thread. If it comes up, click on the link below the description that says "cache", and you might have a fairly recent version pop up. In my case, Google did not have a cached version, but Yahoo had one from about a month ago. Try it!

I'm glad you said that. I checked Google first, but they didn't have it cached. Yahoo did.
