Rules first:
1. I know I have no refs, but unless you have signifigant, as in 100 or more refs you have to send money first. Maybe this is weird to you, but if you went in some new store would they give you a DVD before you pay them? No
2. You pay 2$ shipping for first item. 1$ for every item after that unless it has siginifigant weight
3. You have to send the payment for shipping first no matter what
4. I leave Sunday for two weeks so I want all sales done by then. I will leave my roommate a list of what to send to who once shipping costs are received. On with the sale
5. I want to sell everything. Please email me at jobes201@yahoo.com

Sorry, the maxminis board does not generally accept new sellers expecting money sent first. If you want people to send money first, you need to establish yourself first.

You are two days behind shipping to me for our trade. You said you were going to mail on on Wednesday, and have not mailed yesterday nor today. This is not a good pattern to show when you have so little reputation on this board.

I advise the maxminis community that nobody commit to sending you money first until after you have established yourself. It takes longer to establish yourself before selling than it does to establish yourself as a trader, because you are asking people to send money to you before they have received anything, and there is no strong safeguard at maxminis to protect those who are sending the money.

Note that jobes2007 cancelled our already accepted trade without communicating to me of his intention of doing so.

Corim you need to stop slandering my name. Prince of Persia was scratched and wouldn't turn on so I didn't send it, I forgot to tell you and as soon as I cancelled the trade you flipped out.

So the question is, did Corim send you anything? If not, then there really isn't an issue. However, if he did send something your way before you canceled the trade, then there's a problem that needs to be fixed. And to voice his echoes, I would be leery of sending anything to non-established members, let alone money, first. The proper ettiquette would be to allow for a little leeway there, use paypal or something of that nature in case someone decided not to ship out after paying, a chargeback will occur.

Secondly, offer Delivery Confirmation, this makes many people breath easier. In my EBay auctions I will always use delivery confirmation, and when it came to trades, I did the same there as well.

Thirdly, don't list items for sale or trade before looking over it to make sure there won't be any problems, such as a scratched up disc or a bend in a card. People will not be happy receiving it, and moreso people will have a problem with you backing out of a trade even if you are telling the truth. So, echoing Corim, I would be wary.

Lastly, even those well-established traders and sellers have turned bad. I personally never had a problem with ckgames, but I learned that a month later they were ripping many people off that got their money back eventually. Then there was a trader that turned bad, but later turned around and followed through on his word and redeemed himself in many people's eyes, BShugg, you get a kudos for that, much appreciated because you are a valuable member on these boards. And then there were others, like ChaoticGood, which I traded with 3 times before he totally ripped everyone (including me, costing me around $125.00 in miniatures) off. He said he never received, but my Delivery Confirmation said otherwise which ties into mail fraud. However, needless to say, even well-established members have done some nasty things but there's always ways to get money back or to try and get mail fraud against someone. Sadly enough though, it's hard to prove mail fraud since half the people here won't even use their real names. But paypal makes it a lot harder to disprove that something has or hasn't been shipped. PayPal needs only one thing, a DC#, to clear a dispute. If you don't have a DC#, chances are they will almost always side with the customers.

I always try to send through delivery confirmation, and I expect the same. It's only 55 cents extra, so it's just a little more than a pay phone call, so just do it for the Kai. I prefer to trade with people in the US and Canada, sorry everyone else.

However, read his rules... He said he would send first but shipping must be paid there.. It seems to be a good compromise there. I send 5 bucks to get 4 items, and then pay the rest of what I owe once I receive the items. It's a compromise that I would risk.

No, he did not send anything first. I will offer Deleviry Confirmation, that's why it's two bucks for first item instead of 1.20 like it will cost.

My problem was not that I sent something and did not receive (which would be a full disputed trade). My problem is the canceled trade with no communication in any fashion that there were any problems. There was no explanation at any point until after I posted my concerns that there were any problems with the game. The reason he provided me for not shipping on the day he said he would is different from the reason provided here, and there is no mention of the reason he gave me in the defense here.

If it is only the payment for shipping that is requested, then I was incorrect to state that people should not make transactions until after he was established. I had never heard someone requesting advance payment for shipping only, and such a request does not seem out of line. The problems are from poor communication. When I asked him on the second date about shipping, he was in the middle of chatting with someone in the chat window. He ignored me completely. I sat and played solitaire on my computer for quite a while waiting for him to respond and he never did. Next thing I know, our trade was canceled without explanation.

He never asked me if I wanted to go ahead with the trade if his disc was scratched, or if I would take if for a smaller amount of minis since it was scratched, nor anything of the sort.

And that would be an issue because it's considered bad ettiquette for backing out of a trade, which was my third point. While condition could be a problem, backing out of a trade can be just as bad...

Ok. Yes, I backed out of a trade and forgot to tell you why. It's not just that the disc is scratched. It doesn't read. At all. So I cancelled and meant to send you an email explaining everything and forgot. It's only money for shipping I ask for first, and this is because I'm pretty broke right now and I don't get paid for a little while.

So can this whole thing be done with? I don't feel like having a bad repuatation before I even start on this site.

Well, it would seem that you either lied when we were discussing the trade (as I asked you directly if the disc was in good condition before we agreed on the trade) or in this post in which you say it is so badlly scratched that it is unreadable.

This website is not designed for trading of DVD's or video games.  There is no way for the receiver to see the quality of a disc before agreeing to a trade.  If any trades are to occur involving discs, then there is a great deal of trust on the receiver's part.

You have demonstrated that we can't just take you at face value in the way you advertised for the trade with me, and then in the way you conducted your trade with me.

I will not be setting aside my dispute.  If you are successful in negotiating trades with others involving any kind of discs, then it will be with their knowledge of your history with me.  That way they are more aware of your history when making their decisions.  They are trading with you with a warning.

I suggest that you read the trade guidelines for this website.

It is not a good thing for you to cancel a trade and then "forget" to tell the other person.  You should be communicating with someone before you cancel a trade.

Recently Corim, you have been slandering my name across the MaxMinis forums. I really need that to stop.

Yeah, when you asked the condition the disc was in I said good, because I was pretty sure it was still just sitting in it's case undisturbed.

When I went to send it though, I saw that it was damaged, and after putting it in my Wii and confirming it didn't read I cancelled the trade.

I am aware that I forgot to contact you about this, and I have apologized numerous times.. people forget things, I'm sure you have too.

But now, even though you did not send anything or lose anything at all except a bit of your time you are going to start bashing me all across the website? This is acceptable in now way.

I have apologized, and well again now, that I forgot to contact you. I have been very busy lately. You are making it impossible for me to trade or sell on this site. I don't appreciate that at all.

So since you have lost nothing but maybe 5 minutes I ask you to please take back what you have said, stop advising people to not trade with me, and leave me alone.

Thank you

The listed rules above only say jobes will send first if you have a 100 or more refs.
So I understand caution.

It also seems to me that Corim is just stating what happened, which is imo fair enough as jobes2007 doesnt seem to have a reference thread.
