| I left my first negative feedback in the trade interface today and noticed that there is really nothing to alert people that a trader has any negative trades. It's just filed as a completed trade and you have to actually click the trade to read the feedback...no one is going to do that.
I just thought I should point this out. It doesn't do much good to keep track of feedback if no one is ever aware of bad traders.

| Out of curiosity, I checked your trades to see who it was you left negative feedback for. I couldn't find it so am assuming it is your one remaining Open trade.
So, not only does nothing alert anybody that there are negative trades, but someone can avoid even those being seen by never leaving feedback at all. (As others can't see your trades in progress.)

| Actually, the person I left negative feedback for left me positive feedback in the same trade. It's also filed away as completed and isn't the one trade I still have open. Most likely you saw his "positive" and just didn't notice my side was marked "negative".
You actually WENT looking for the trade marked negative and still didn't notice it. That should prove that we need to get a better feedback alert system going in the trade interface. Maybe something like Ebay has like a scoreboard showing a total score of "Positive, Neutral, Negative"?

| Which transaction was it, exactly? I don't have the time to click on every single one of your transactions, and I didn't notice a negative in the few recent ones I did check.
The page you see when you look at your own trades is different from what everyone else sees. It's possible that the trade isn't being listed on your list of completed trades that is available to other people.
Without knowing who the other trader is, there isn't any way we can check that it IS showing up on the other trader's list.

| Also, Jai mentioned at some point that one of his plans for the trade interface was to add some sort of tally or visual indication of the trade feedback on the trade interface trade.
He's got a lot of stuff on his to-do list, including many non-maxminis things like unpacking from his move, so it might be a while.

| Yeah it's the 2/10/06 trade with jeremiahcarissa and I feel crummy leaving it but he's given me the run-around for 4 months now.
Funny thing is, I got my first Ebay negative feedback lastnight. The guy sent me an item different from the picture he listed, he called me greedy when I politely asked him about it, I had to file a dispute with paypal & he gave me a partial refund, I left him positive feedback for doing the right thing with the refund, and the putz left me a negative in return & lied in his feedback. He was mad he had to give me the refund and took advantage of my appreciation & good intentions after I left him feedback first.
I guess that's karma for leaving jeremiahcarissa a negative here. I try my hardest to be fair in my dealings and this is the 4th time this year that I have had someone online screw me over in a deal. I hate not being able to do anything about this.
Sorry for the rant, I know this isn't the place for it.

| It would be much better if there was some way of indicating hegative feedback has been given in a trade.
Perhaps by highlight the "Trade Comlete" in red of by inserting an " *" beside it.
That would make it easy to see the bad jujus.

| I also kinda wish there were different categories for rating. It would be nice to have a positive and negative for speed of trade, courtesy of trade, etc.
But, if we did that, it would also be nice to have a rating other than a simple binary rating. A 1-to-5 scale for several different categories might be nice. Then the top traders would have, for example, a cumulative rating higher than 4.0 or something.

| And that is the short coming of ebay. You can leave positive feedback and then the other person can leave negative feedback as a relaiation. The system does not work well at all. I had it happen twice that the seller did not leave feedback until after I had left feedback, and that is complete BS. You got the money in a timely fashion then why the negative feedback... because I questioned you???

Agreed. Our environment here is much less dedicated to trade between anonymous individuals and much more dedicated to trade between those who obtain mutual trust in trading relationships over time.
Being able to witness and depend upon that trust is the whole point of having reference threads and feedback to begin with.

I totally agree. The possibility of retaliatory negative feedback is too great. We need a better system. | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!
