| Potential Improvements to the H/W list:
(again, I'll try to compile the suggestions and improvements in this post, but feel free to make comments about specific improvements and whether or not you think they would be a good idea.)
Combine entries for the two sides of the DDM Maps from the Fantastic Locations, for example "Fane of Lolth / Tomb of Queen Peregrine" since they are really one unit. Separate entries would be added for special one sided versions of those maps, like was done for the errata version of Broken Demongate.
It would take some coding or special queries to fix the previously entered user info for the maps, but we could also just replace the record for one of the "sides" with the combined item name and delete the other obsolete "side" record, and then tell folks they should double check their H/W entries for the maps. Theoretically, the numbers for each side of the map should be the same (except for the D&D Gameday Fane of Lolth, since IIRC it was one-sided).
At three new Fantastic Locations releases a year (with four maps each), this way we'll only need to add six entries for those maps from that particular source each year instead of twelve.

DDM - Maps (** replaces existing list, preferably remapping existing user entries... **)

m 1 The Lost Temple g
m 2 Dragon's Hoard g
m 3 Fane of Lolth / Tomb of the Queen Peregrine g
m 4 Drow Enclave / Mithral Mines g
m 5 Drow Outpost g
m 6 Fane of Lolth (D&D Gameday 2005) g
m 7 Hellspike / Temple of the Prismatic Flame g
m 8 Magma Keep / Mushroom Cavern g
m 9 Broken Demongate / Teleport Temple g
m 10 Dragon Shrine / Field of Ruin g
m 11 Broken Demongate (errata) g
m 12 Keep of Fallen Kings I / Dungeon of Blood g
m 13 King's Road / Keep of Fallen Kings II g
m 14 Forest Cliff Lair / Dragon Graveyard g
m 15 Dragondown Grotto / Spawnscale Nursery g

How about a new category for the Star Wars mini Scenario Packs. We currently have the "Attack on Endor" pack, and there is a Rancor pack coming early next year. One subcategory for each scenario pack may start to get excessive, so how about one subcategory (Scenario Packs) for all of them collectively?
SWM - Scenario Packs (** new sub-category **)
s 1 AT-ST Imperial s s 2 Scout Trooper Imperial s s 3 Stormtrooper Imperial s s 4 Stormtrooper Officer Imperial s s 5 Endor Bunker / Ravaged Base m s 6 Temple on Yavin 4 / Rancor Pit m
Do we want to have separate categories for the SWM maps and tiles? I'll have to track this info down if we do, and we would need to decide if maps from the SWM scenario packs will go in the Map or in the Scenario sub-category...
Maybe it would be a good idea to add "epic card" to the names of the epic card entries, so that they can be distinguished from the actual miniature in any pop-up menu tools.

| I also suggest that we move "Zhentarim Fighter (Release)" (currently DDM op 0) from DDM Organized Play to the DDM Promo category.
That way we keep the DDM Organized Play category strictly for the numbered D&DC series of repaints.
Just ignore the fact that it's the only mini listed in the OP category I don't have, since that's not the reason why I think it should be moved [)]

It's definitely an OP promo, though, not a general Promo. I suggest setting its ID to 100 (and I'll do the same at Hordelings, and talk to Bifur's about doing the same -- though I don't think they import/export promos). Hordelings allows non-numeric IDs, but neither Bifur's nor Maxminis does, so I'm trying to move away from non-numeric IDs as much as possible, for the "master list" of IDs.

The thing is, a case could be made why a variety of minis belong in the DDM op category, and the categorization is going to be subjective unless we have some agreed standard.
Why not the Drow Rogue (PLR1) promo that was given out for League Play at Gencon 04, since League Play at Gencon is run by organized play, right?
Why not (potentially) the Small Fire Elemental (UK Nats) promo, if it is given out at a national championship that has support from the organized play program. What about a theoretical promo given out at Gencon specifically to the people playing in the Championships (definitely an organized play event)?
So, my impression is that the OP category should be minis that were more widely available, as part of the widespread retail program.
The Zent Fighter was given out at small tournaments that were run in a few locations (18?), so it's availability to most people certainly isn't going to be any better than the examples I mentioned above. The pre-release promos included in the D&DC sequence weren't given out until much later when the pre-release events were more widespread, and the campaign retailer kits are generally available.
Finally, using the D&DC label as the requirement for being an "op" promo instead of a regular promo is better because it isn't subjective at all. Either a promo has a D&DC number on the base or it doesn't.

Thanks, I've added them to the list in the other thread.
I've also reorganized the two H/W list related threads I started, making this one solely about suggestions for improving the H/W list or adding categories and item types, and making the other hold all the new entries needed and corrections. | | | |
