| Takasi CG is listed with a +1 weapon, but the weapon is not designated as melee or ranged.
I will be facing this warlord and was curious to know the melee vs. ranged bent [?] | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. Reference Thread, H/W List, Champion of the Catoblepas

Elvira is 6th level now and I added the 3rd level spell Fireball, you should remember our exchange of Fireballs! [:D] It also leaves out one of my magic items, the (Med.) I think this puts TKort and me at the same level so no support troops for me, unless he wants to spot me 20 points which I'll probably need.

For sorcerers, you are correct: EITHER another [] of a level you currently cast OR a new spell to choose from, but not both.
When you obtain your 1st spell of a new casting level, you get both a [] and a new spell to choose from. | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. Reference Thread, H/W List, Champion of the Catoblepas

Quick Boon was last time, so the title was just not changed and it's Chambers of Dread this time. I was going to comment on your signature equating Alabama to hell. I'm from Alabama and I was going to disagree, then I see you listed Montgomery, so I agree that Montgomery is hell. [:)]

| Jareth and Unger are scheduled for battle on Wednesday at 8 pm Central.
Question for the Scenario: It says that an attack roll of 20 automatically destroys the target, even if it would not normally do damage. If you attack a creature and roll a 20, it seems like we would not need to do incoporal/conceal as the creature will be dead anyway. Does this seem right?

I read that as bypassing DR even without a magic weapon, but clarification against conceal/incorporeal would make a huge distance.

Winning Player: AesophDarkfable, Thom Waits (CG) Buruja's's Warband: Thom Waits(2nd level, ROE), Longtooth Barbarian(+1 armor of false life), Griffon, Greycloak Ranger (+wolf) SUPPORT- Elf Spearguard, Elf Warrior, Ass 6, Mushroom tangle, Jagged Wasteland, Intersection. Experience Gained: 1000 Leveling: +1 SPL, +5HP, +1CR, +[]Summon Monster 2 (2nd) Lieutenant XP: 500 xp to Spookytooth the Longtooth Barbarian Lieutenant leveling options: none Magic item gained: Bag of Tricks (blah) Magic item lost: +1 Armor of False life (traded)
Losing Player: OC(LE) Gorn Skullsplitter Tullywi's Warband: Gorn, Sah. Ranger, Grell, Dark Moon Monk, Lizardfolk Rogue Experience gained: 250 Warlord's leveling options: none Magic item gained: +1 shield Magic item lost (if any): none
They met in the dread chamber and looked across the battlefield. Thick tangles of mushrooms and spikes limited opening movement for Lord OC, he advanced north towards the broken wall. The Elven Archer and the Greycloak blasted damage into the Lizardfolk who felt the increased pain caused by the chamber, but due to the Orders of the Tyrannical Gorn, he stayed put and didn't run. In a vengeful strike the Sah. Ranger came forward and killed the Greycloak with one mighty shot. Thom weakned the Ranger, and the angered the wolf bites the Grell and stuns him before he can do any real damage and the spearguard comes in and drops him to a fearful routing state. The Sah. Ranger gets finished off and Gorn moves in to swing at the griffon and misses his powerful smite from his belt. Spookytooth pounds on warlord Gorn. The wolf finishes off the stunned Aberration, and Thom nails Gorn with a RoE as well. Finally the battle is in full blast, Gorn slices into the Griffon after the monk truestriked him, but due to the songs of Thom Waits he stays. He then retaliates and destroys Gorn in one fell blow of his jazz hands. (Nat 20). The Lizardfolk with three massive claw strikes hurts Spookytooth, but it was too late. The spearguard moved in and stuck his spear right through the eye of the monk killing her in one blow. Thom uses his last enchantment and makes the Lizard Rogue break out in laughter. In his laughing state, the lizardfolk out numbered gave up as he knew he was doomed.
I think it was a bad enough matchup with CG in the increased damage, but the rolls werent with him either. He tried his best but it was an ugly match for Gorn.

BATTLE REPORT
The infamous Chamber of Dread, there it lay before the two warlords, each hoping to dominate its dark and ominous hallways and rooms. Krawd's team crouched behind the entry walls and streamed forth along the north hallway in pairs, trying to stay out of sight. Buruja's party moved up in loose formation north and west, toward Krawd's cluster. The teams were now at engagement distance and the action took no time to develop.
Ignavus and his cousin Bardus took to their wings, leading with dual acid sprays and destroying D-Low, Butcher, and both orc grunts. In retaliation, Buruja sent the spirit forth to attack the formian, her spell resistant foe, and summoned an abyssal maw as a shielding guard. The giant flattened Bardus in back to back blows. Krawd charged the ghost spirit and struck it down. The formian moved up to sting the maw back to The Abyss, and the goblin hordes scrambled forward, Snig in the rear directing assault lanes.
Buruja's acid arrow weakened the formian, who then retaliated by running up to sting the giant, which failed to penetrate its thick hide. The giant batted the antman to one side and stepped forward. Buruja boldly jogged forward and launched her fireball, destroying 3 goblins and seriously wounding Snig the Axe. Snig returned fire with a thrown axe, but the hoped for rout was not to be had - Buruja held fast. Forix moved in to finish off the dark warlord.
The giant found himself flanked between Ignavus and a goblin grunt. More goblins poured forward, and Krawd strode throught the walls toward to fray. Spear after spear glanced off the mighty formorian. Finally, Ignavus sank his teeth deep in the the giant's shoulder. As the deformed giant's blood fell upon the ancient stones, the dread magic siezed his lifeforce and drained it in mere seconds.
This scenario has a lot to do with luck, and building a band to exploit the dice. Had I not gotten the odds to work in my favor, the giant could have held out quite some time, dealing massive 45 point dual shots each round! | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. Good game. Similar bands were going to be trouble, seeing as how half the band couldn't see the other half. Lots of LOS checks and hiding and sniping. I took a risk quickly and lost a graycloak for it. Setting up shop in the center of the board I then ran the wolves and ragnara out to stop the shooting. The wolf was able to stun a ranger before being takin out and ragnara managed to decimate a ranger in one shot before having to run away and get shot herself in the back. In the end, it ended up with Mort down to 5hp and his ranger down to 15 with a healthy Vadania and Denton hiding across the board with good vision.

Thanks for bringing this up....
The description for the Bag of Tricks should read:
"[][] Replaces attacks: Summon a 5pt Wolf, The summoned wolf appears adjacent to the creature and loses its Difficult or Wild ability. Only one Wolf from the Bag of Tricks may be present at one time."
As per summon: "A summoned creature does not activate on the round it appears..." and "A summoned creature is immediately eliminated if the creature that summoned it is eliminated...."

| To celebrate the Eternal Campaign's 6th month anniversary(?) We will be holding another tournament, with another chance for players to get their greedy little warlord's hands on an artefact ;)
The tournament will begin the week of Aug 1st, at which time I will also post an updated set of rules, with new feats, spells, and possibly psionics progression, and the ability for warlord's to gain extra attacks as they level up (see the discussion thread to join in the discussion on how to implement these rules, and to input your suggestions for new spells, feats, and magic items).
tullywi, could you please add this to "notes for this week" section for the next few weeks? thanks =) | | Join the Eternal Skirmish Campaign.

| Unger and Jareth met in the Chamber of Dread:
1. Unger, Vina, Orank, Lulu, Drow Sarge, Harpy, Wood Woad, Deathlock, 4*Kenku Sneak, 1000 XP 2. Unger moves to 6750 XP, no level 3. Orank the Half-Orc Assassin gain 500 XP 4. Gain +1 Lvl, +1 Att, +10 HP 5. Ring of Archery (+2 attack with a bow) 6. None
7. Jareth, Warforged Hero, Skullclan Hunter, Coutal, and Clestial Dire Badger with support from Aramil 8. 250 9. No level 10. Potion of Shielding [][] 11. None
12. Unger pushed his horde into the Chamber of Dread. He hoped there would be much open space for his army in their battle against the nasty Cleric's men. Things were to Unger's liking once he surveyed the field of battle.
The Cleric quickly raised the defenses of the small one and moved to what appeared to be a safe hiding place. The badger moved forward to take on any magic threats. Two Kenkus moved up, one hiding and hitting the Badger, the other missing. Aramil dropped one and the Coutal moved forward to provide energy protection for his army. Unger saw an opening and moved so he could not see the Coutal and Badger but could see the Cleric. An icy storm followed doing minor damage to Aramil, the Cleric, and the Hunter (both of the last two unprotected by the Coutal). Unger drove his horde forward and ordered the Wood Woad to take the point.
The Badger sprinted forward to harass a Kenku, and the Wood Woad took a sonic orb and magic missile. After the little one and the Warforged moved forward during the Cleric's prayer, Unger summoned 3 timber wolves between the two infantry and the Coutal. The Woad moved to a magic circle and hit the Badger who ran. A 20 by Vina the drow rogue killed him instantly.
The team of good quickly dispatched all three wolves, but their plan to swoop in on Unger was delayed. The brave Woad moved to attack the Coutal. In return he was hit by a searing light and a ray of enfeeblement, but Unger convinced him to stay in the battle. The mischievous Harpy saw her opportunity and flew up and over the Coutal. This allowed the charging Vina to sneak attack the Coutal using her new deadly weapon (5+5+10+10 damage). The Coutal did not flee and quickly struck back at the Rogue, sending her fleeing, poisoned, toward the exit. The serpent tried to fly away, only to have the Harpy connect for the kill.
Then Orank, the Assassin, and Lulu, the Savage, sprinted around the action getting close to the Cleric. Unger moved through a wall to encourage these two to act quickly. The Savage took a blow from the Cleric as he circled around Jareth, but his new level saved him from dying. His attack missed, but the Assassin was able to charge the Cleric and roll a 20.
The remaining infantry of Good moved to kill the Woad as Aramil took a magic missile and fled the battlefield. Bob the Kenku needed a 20 and got one, killing the Hunter.
The brave Hero fought on counting on his damage resistance and armor to save him. He quickly sent the Harpy and Orank running. His glory was short lived as Lulu pressed forward. One blow from his mighty stone spear (20) shut the Hero down for good.
My "bring a horde" theory worked well. Since I had more people, I should have more 20's go my way. I think the percentage of 20's I got from my rolls was about the same as what AesophDarkfable received. However, I had many more chances to roll a 20. And, he used all his 20's on his stun saves the first round. Of his 6 man Band, 4 were killed with 20's.
Good game to AesophDarkfable. Without the 20 rule, this game would have been a slaughter by the good team.
