| Well, now that you mention it... :)
My tiefling should have 0 exp. That 250 exp is a leftover of when my computer went splat and I had to skip my game with old coast. I think jjbeezer gave me 250 exp for the concession when I shouldn't get anything according to the EC rules.

| | Are either of my opponents up for a game today (Monday July 4th)? I know it's the 4th but I'm off and home during most of the day, so it would be a great chance for me to get a game in. Reply here or drop me an e-mail. Thanks. | | | |

| 1) FYI some of the errata and adopted rules are now baked into the on-line rules posting. There should not be any surprises for those who watch the EC Rules Discussion threads.

*EDIT* Nah, thats the way the cookie crumbles. All i needed was a 5 and a 10. 3,1,4 is not the way to go. You know something is odd when Vadania kills more than a Berserker. Hehe[:D] | | "I'm feelin pretty good today. I don't think anything could make me angry" "The English" "AAAAARRRRGGGGGG"

| AngryIrish and I just met. Our match was quick and bloody. The dicebot must have confused Angry for me; because she certainly screwed him over. Although my Destrachan did fail MCs twice only needing a 7, so she started to recognize me.
1) Winning Warlord's Warband: The Hobgoblin with No Name (Urthok), Destrachan, Goblin Skirmisher x5, Support--Goblin Skirmisher x2. Tiles--Rubble Assembly; Treasure Room; Scorched Passage; Torture Chamber 2) Exp. Gained -- 1000XP, 1500CP 3) No Name takes a level, +1 LVL, +1Att, +10HP 4) Lt. Exp. -- Pancho, the Goblin Skirmisher, who's mighty spear finished off the Frenzied Berserker 5) Lt. Leveling -- No level for Pancho, but he's feeling very optimistic 6) Magic Item Gained -- Potion of Protection [][] 7) Magic Item Lost -- N/A 8) Losing Warlord's Warband - Vadania, the Half-Elf Druid, Frenzied Berserker. Tiles--Rubble Assembly; Mushroom Tangle; Aftermath; Treasure Room. 9) Exp. Gained -- 250 10) Warlord's Leveling Options -- None 11) Magic Item Gained -- (Med.) Major Heightened Scroll 12) Magic Item Lost -- +1 Shield traded in 13)Dice were the real story of this match. The Nameless' Goblin Skirmishers spread out to provoke AOOs if the FB ran past them. She did and two connected. The FB based the Destrachan and on the subsequent round missed both attacks. The dice did not look favorably on Angry. More Gobbos chipped away at the FB and one threw its spear fruitlessly at Vadania. The Destrachan blasted flesh, incinerating a goblin, but the FB saved. Round 3, the FB again missed with both attacks and the Destrachang blasted her flesh. This time fortune did not shine on the FB and she took the entire 15. More gobbos hurled spears at the FB and Urthok threw his axe at her. Between her burnout and the constant plinking away by the gobbos, the FB was in a bad state. Knowing that those elves kept fighting after death, the Nameless moved away to urge his goblins on. The FB finally connected on the Destrachan and he went scurrying away. Vadania had killed a few goblins by this time, but had done little else. Seizing the initiative, the Nameless ordered the goblins to attack, hurling their spears the FB finally went down. The Nameless moved to try and lure the Destrachan back to the fight, but it ran away. However, seeing a healty, angry Hobgoblin across from her, Vadania decided to seek quarter. It was a good quick game, the dice really hurt AngryIrish, they must have been English dice.

| BATTLE REPORT: Richard II(CE) vs. Zippy (CG)
Winning Warlord's Warband: Rodus the Copper Samurai, Graycloak Ranger with Wolf, Gnome Recruit / TILES Assy Rubble, Intersection, Mushroom Tangle, Ancient Temple Warlord Experience: +1000 XP, +1500 CP Warlord Leveling: +1 LVL, +1Att, +10HP Lieutenant: none Lieutenant Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: +1 Shield of Command Magic Item Lost: none
Losing Warlord's Warband: Tiefling Captain, Deathlock, Mountain orc, Abyssal Maw. Rubble assembly, corridor, treasure room, hall of heroes Warlord Experience: +250XP, +250CP Warlord Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: +1 Shield Magic Item Lost: none
Summary
Gharag II chose the battlefield well, and moved up behind long walls. Rodus sent the gnome to survey the enemy setup - the gnome slumped over dead from a magic missile, hailing engagement. As Rodus and his remaining wolf and ranger were on the brink of closing, Gharag boldy moved the orc and himself up into position to lead off with a charge.
Gharag kept control over the flow of battle and sent the orc surging forth. He connected on the ranger, who in return resolved to stay in the battle. Gharag himself moved up to lock the wolf into position. The ranger's reply was unexpected - he pulled his masterwork longsword and struck a critical blow, and used Rodus's training to land a follow-through thrust while the orc was off balance. The orc fled for its life. Rodus then moved around to pin Gharag, while the deathlock and abyssal maw moved slowly up in search of their commander.
After a few melee exchanges, Gharag slipped out of battle with only a whisper of life in reserve. Gharag withdrew to take command of his cowering troops, and the deathlock took orders and routed the ranger out of the area with a simple fear spell, while the maw ran forth to connect with Rodus. Gharag still maintained an iron hold on the flow of battle, and commanded the deathlock to move in on the wolf with another fear. The fear was successful and the wolf followed its companion out of the area.
Now with Rodus alone, the deathlock fired its last magic missile to score the rout. Rodus however regained his composure near the exit, and rebounded with a charge on the deathlock. The deathlock's claw return was amplified by the tiefling, leaving Rodus with 10HP, the deathlock with 10 HP, and Gharag still with 5 HP.
After a few misses from Gharag's Crew, Rodus released his lightning fast acid breath. The deathlock darted aside, while Gharag was fried. Rodus then dispatched the deathlock to claim a narrow victory.
We each had sweet-n-sour dice for the evening, with no glaring errors or controlling dice. It was simply a very tight game and played out down to the wire, and could have easily gone either way. | Takasi vs AesophDarkfable
Winner: Thom Waits (Warchanter, AesophDarkfable) Winning Warlord's Warband: Thom Waits the Warchanter, Spookytooth the Longtooth Barbarian, Goliath Barbarian, Cat Benatar the Wilder, Graycloak Ranger x2 with wolves, Elf Warrior SUPPORT TROOPS: Ragnara (+1 shield of immune elec), Elf Spearguard / TILES Assy Rubble, Torture Chamber, Treasure Room, Shrine Warlord Experience: +1000 XP (4000 total), +1500 CP Warlord Leveling: none Lieutenant: Cat Benatar the Wilder (catfolk wilder) 500 xp Lieutenant Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: Eversmoking Bottle (YEAH), +1 weapon (minor) Magic Item Lost: +1 shield of elec immunity (major)
Losing Warlord's Warband: Pepro the Marshall, HGPW x2, Medium Air Elemental x2. Rubble assembly, SS oasis, SS jagged Wastes, mushroom tangle Warlord Experience: +250XP, +250CP Warlord Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: Amulet of Immune to Acid (major) Magic Item Lost: Armor of Blasting (major)
Two different strategies met on the field today. Pepro, counting on his orders brought speed to try to recon through and win the day. Thom brought his trusty Cat Benatar and Spookytooth and a horde of others to try and clog holes and do damage. Using misdirection, Pepros giants went south then north, his air elementals went towards the opposing starter. Thom summoned Azers to clog more holes. The giants made several saves against CAts mind blasts, but made a crucial mistake. Thinking that Thom only had regular countersong, one took the AoO from the Goliath, damaged to the point of morale and suprisingly not able to hear his captains orders, he ran. Pepro almost threw in the towel here, but Thom talked him into trying one more round. With some jostling for position the air elementals out of command almost made if off the board, and the other giant as well. With the next key init. The giant and elementals would have made it. Pepro lost the advantage though and the wilder let out a final blast on the routing giant, slaying him. With this, Pepro raised the white flag realizing he would have to take out 42 pts now with a wounded and surrounded, and severaly weakened (RoE) pepro in order to seize the day.
Takasi not knowing that it was improved countersong hurt him early when he mussed up his strategy. He had a sound one in just getting across the board, but the AoOs and the improved countersong hurt him bad. It would have been a much better game had it not been for that early mistake. Very intereseting scenario that I like alot. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

Ah, ok, I reset Vassal and now I can't get on. Grumble.
I will not be able to play on Thursday, or Friday (previous social events / work / etc, since I figured we'd be able to get game in). Saturday / Sunday morning are my only options.

| BATTLE REPORT: Jai vs. AesophDarkfable (LE)
Winning Warlord's Warband: Warlord Digger (Dwarf Caver), Lt. Smokey (Dwarven Werebear; Ring of Quick Strike) Hill Dwarf Warrior x7 (+1 Shield); TILES: Assembly 4, Corridor, Scorched Passage, Statue Room Warlord Experience: +1000 XP, +1500 CP (now lvl 2) Warlord Leveling: +1 LVL, +1Att, +10HP Lieutenant: +500 XP Lieutenant Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: +1 Fearburst Weapon (Spoils from Dogface) Magic Item Lost: none
Losing Warlord's Warband: Warlord Dogface (Kobold Sorcerer), Destrachen, Wraith (+1 Fearburst Weapon); TILES: Assembly 6, Mushroom Tangle, Jagged Wasteland, Oasis Warlord Experience: +250XP, +250CP Warlord Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: +1 Weapon Magic Item Lost: +1 Fearburst Weapon
Summary
Dogface and his crew advanced quickly, but Digger placed his troops well. The defensive line was enough to hold Destrachen long enough for the majority of the clan to surround it. After a well defended first blast, the line almost faltered under the second blast. Holding onto what courage they could, they defeated the Destrachen before it could unleash its third, final, and probably deadly blast. The kobold did what he could to soften the dwarves up, but they had little to fear his weak magic. The wraith provided more of a distraction moving from place to place as neither Digger's Clan nor the Wraith seemed to have a lot of luck in the damage department. After Smokey's solid whack caused Dogface to run, the surviving clansmen bore down on the wraith, and it was only a matter of time ...
I think we both played it well. My +4 Save all around definitely helped against the blasts, drains, and bursts. I had an interesting series of 1s that ended up doing nothing more than annoying me. I also think my 9 to his 3 activations played a large part.

Losing Warlord: TKort(LG) / Bertha Bertha's Warband: Dwarf Sergeant “Bertha” (+1 shield of command, +1 armor of Displacement, +1 Shocking weapon, major quickened scroll); Large Silver Dragon (Ring of One Godly Blow); Regdar, Adventurer (+1 returning weapon, censor of controlling air elementals, Ring of Big Stepping) ; Rask, Half-orc Chainfighter (+1 armor of resistance):: Assembly Tile 2; Mushroom Tangle, Creeping Tangle, Ancient Temple Warlord Experience: +250XP, +250CP Warlord Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: (med).+1 armor of shadow (hide) {also see TKort's post above - he has an item correction needed} Magic Item Lost: (min).+1 shield
Summary
Bertha and Thea took the field, each sizing up the other's squad. Bertha brought Rask as a fast melee powerhouse, where Thea filled in with a gold dragon. Thea's huge support bonus gave her a couatl, Gus the SoG, and Illuc the MAA.
First contact was Bertha's LSD chomping the hill dwarf. Thea's dragons then flanked the LSD and SoG moving in for further pinning. The couatl started tossing concussion bombs on the silver as well. Thea summoned a pair of azers, while Regdar's conjured air elemental sped across the field toward the far exit.
The Gold Dragon was getting badly mauled next to the LSD, since Rask joined the party, so it breathed fire on rask, the LSD, and bertha (plus poor crispy little Illuc) and headed toward the far exit. Rask pursued, and regdar flanked, locking down the Gold. Bertha's LSD was now getting pretty sore, and charged the far exit. Thea maintained command superiority and the LSD and Couatl who'd been pursuing the wounded Silver were able to combine a charge bite with sonic orb to fell the mighty wyrm.
Now, Bertha knew she needed to start dropping her opponents, so Rask took over with a deathblow on the Gold Dragon. Regdar cleverly used his big stepping to dimension door directly to the far exit. Thea retaliated with Gus downing Rask, and then Thea and her remaining summoned Azer headed off the far exit. Bertha, realizing it was not possible to stop 2 fast fliers from exiting, conceded the field.
Even though TKort had +1 init on me, I won most of the inits, including all but one important init. There was only 1 dragon breath used the whole game, despite there being 3 powerful breathers each with dual BW's. Interesting scenario but not my personal favorite - I like brawls better [:)] | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't.
