| Note scenario rules updates. Go by the link at the top of this thread (Eternal Campaign Scenarios thread) for official up to the minute rulings.
Please bear with us - this is a brand new scenario with some unique twists that make it exciting, but as a community we'll tune it in. We can re-run this map with updated rules (post in EC Scenarios thread for suggestions) or cool variants (how about treants or forest trolls guarding the area?) in future weeks.
Also, if you have your own scenario and / or map ideas, post or email me, we'll try to work it into weekly play for the team to run and develop over time. WotC does not support campaign play much (yet), so we can all contribute to developing a library of our own material as we go! | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. Darth thought the rest would be easy to destroy but he underestimated his pray. Urgg and Darth could not seem to land a hit on Raven as he evaded their blows and in turn made Darth run away from Raven but Darth knew his trusty Lt. Battle Report
went 7 rounds 40/0 gorgasim/lowlevelstatic.
The battle slowly moved to the top as Miko picked off the abyssal maw and sent it packing. Two of Druoll Bearfarts savages went into a rage as they crushed the xeph warrior and sharn cutthroat in a charge but Miko responded by killing the other quickly. Druoll then dispatched the pointy eared elf and waited for Miko to respond. The samurai cut through both savages but left himself open to Druolls charge and was frightened off the hill. While the samurai regained his composure, it left Druoll with enough time to fortify the hill and the day was his.
Good game lowlevelstatic, i'll send in the log file today.

Not to be too picky, but Dai, my CE commander is level 1, and I believe Veliq is level 0, so it looks like this match should actually be:
lowlevelstatic (CE) 75pts vs. Veliq (CG) 75 pts + 7 support
Oddly enough, this was Dai's last matchup, so here's hoping for some critical hits.
Veliq: Let me know when you'd like to play out our match. Wednesday or Thursday evening after 8pm Central would be best for me.

I probably misread - but do you have to assign Lt. xp immediately? I thought it said that you could basically horde it and assign at a later date.
On a slightly different note - any way we could perhaps review the int 8 requirement? I have a certain large air elemental who's thrown sand in the face of all air-elemental nay-sayers! He's also particularly clever if that helps :).
[[ edit: Yes, yes, he's incited too, but after his medication is much more patient and attentive.]]
I mean, I've met some military personnel who probably don't meet that requirement, yet they have minor leadership roles. 8's just the low end of human average anyhow... Forrest Gump had like a 6 and he made rank in boot camp.

Elvira took the first move, and used it with a quick cast dimension door to get off a first turn fireball. Making clever use of the terrain on the contested hill, she ended up hidden behind the trunk of a great ironwood tree. She left the Eye of Gruumsh in charge of the melee forces, and he shouted the command to climb the hill. The Large Red Dragon flew up effortlessly, along with the zombie dragon, while the remaining foot troops clamored more awkwardly up the steep slope.
Krawd sent his forces on full run, up the hill. He had expected a fomorian, and was set to take down the huge beast, but the giant did not show. He quickly redirected and called for a rush up the slope. The gauth, unable to target the hidden Elvira, flew halfway to the ruins atop the mound. The other foot troops got as far as they could, except Caligo who phased out and floated easily to the top. Ignavus and the Large Blue Dragon flew to the hilltop as well. With his troops in place, Krawd decided to leave them to their battle for the moment - he activated his sprinting armor and moved with ethereal grace and effortlessness. Up the slope, back down, weaving between the grove of ancient ironwoods, and stopping next to the tree where he heard the chanting of another spell begin.
Elvira, who thought she was secure, heard the snap of twigs as Krawd's hulking body phased back in and bore weight onto the ground again. She hesistated for a critical moment, long enough for Krawd to lurch around the trunk and begin with his axe's expert work. The first blow connected, thud. The second blow - Elvira was wild eyed and tried to will herself to flee, but the fear had rooted her to the spot, her instinct hoping for the axe to miss her blurred form. Krawd's axe rang true, bones snapped and blood poored freely out. Krawd did not grin, that was easy but with a moment of different fate it could have gone horribly wrong, he thought. Ah the fickle gods of fate!
Meanwhile, the large blue shifted over on the hilltop and caught many of Elvira's troops in a lightning blast. In response, the zombie and red dragons breathed, and injured Ignavus and the large blue. Melee troops poored from the East and West onto the ruined plateau, locking each other into combat. Before closing, Caligo weakened the large red dragon with an enfeebling ray. The gauth remained on the top of the slope, floating in a spot to fire at will into Elvira's troops. As Elvira's troops quickly routed the large blue off the slope and out of the area. They next went after Ingavus, who waited for them to line up and unleashed an acid cone.
The gauth fired into the fray, Forix tossed a boulder, and then Krawd came floating up the hill, and Elvira's troops realized they were fighting for survival, now without the powerful arcane dark elf who had recruited them. The melee continued in earnest. The orc champion hit home, reducing Ignavus nearly to a bleeding mass, but Forix was able to vanquish the vampiric enhanced orc. Krawd went to work on the Large Red, and the other creatures continued to claw, swing, and dodge.
Troops began to faulter and fall, first Gorm, then the orc champion, then ignavus. The large red shifted and landed to stike down the monk, but she was wiley and would not go easily. Then, shaken by the loss of Elvira, the Eye turned his head to check Krawd's position just as the gauth pelted him with several potent eye rays. The Eye was frozen in place, and watched as Forix draw down his mighty morningstar. In sheer horror he tried to flee but could not. It was then he felt the Ogre's weapon poison burning in his veins, he would not leave this hilltop in glory after all.
Krawd and Forix ganged up on the zombie dragon, with flanking all-out attacks, and finished him off in a round. The Large red, badly wounded and alone, surrendered the hill and fled for his mountain cave.
Wow, some sour dice for Rgrayua early on controlled the whole game. We both knew round 2 initiative was THE roll for this game, and it was 19+11 to 4+8 Krawd's favor. | Week 35 - King of the Hill Tkort (CG) Vs. Old Coast (CE) Aka. Chaos on the Hill
King of the Hill: (TKort’s band) Valius (Inspiring Marshall, with ring of acid resist) and his band: “Slimshadee” Greycloak Ranger (+1 Keen Ranged Weapon) + Wolf Minion; “Silver” Celestial Pegasus; Aramil, Adventurer; Ialdabode, Human Psion; Devis, Half-elf Bard (Lute of Withdrawal) Warlord died, yet again.Valius gets 500xp.Levels to 3, +30 hp, +3 attack, and gains feat: Cleave Lieutenant exp (250, woo) goes to SlimShadee the Greycloak Ranger, bringing him all the way up to 750xp CP Gained: 750 Magic Item Gained: (Maj) +1 Hasted Weapon (melee) Magic Item Lost: Traded (Med) Ring of Acid Resistance
Runner up: (haha get it?) Old Coast’s Band: WARLORD: Hruk -Bugbear Champ (Amulet of Protection, +1 Weapon of Shock, Potion of Fireballs []), WARBAND: Orc Champion, Lt Zom the Deathlock, Orc Warrior X5 Hruk gets 250 XP, 250 CP Magic Item Gained: (min) Scroll of Silent and Still
The match: Well I was scared to play OC on his own map :). Let this be a lesson to everyone to try out new scenarios before your actual match comes up. Having played on the hill before, I knew that I could ambush his guys as they tried to drink from the fountain, so my ranged attackers (SlimShadee the GCR, Aramil, and Ialdabode), lined up in position while my other units went more central or at the bottom to drink from my own fountain.
The plan worked, and the Orc Champ was dropped to 60 in a hurry (a crit from the GCR helped, and everyone else was rolling like champs too). Then Valius granted everyone a move and Silver the Pegasus was able to hit the fountain AND reach the victory circle all within the first round.
Things went from bad to worse for Hruk’s orc forces as Valius’ archers continued to plug the weaker warriors one by one as they hovered around the fountain trying to power up. Rolls were definitely going well for Valius’ side, but without ranged attacks Hruk didn’t really have any chance to make any rolls for quite a while. With Valius’ victory points piling up, Hruk had no choice but to force his army to rush the hill, but in doing so he left his troops open to withering fire from Valius’ archers and himself open to a nasty attack from the Pegasus. The orc champ came to his master’s aide, and the Pegasus took some nasty blows. Devis stepped in and played a magical song of withdrawal, allowing Silver to activate a shield of sanctuary and fly to safety. This maneuver may have been hasty as it left his commander Valius open to attack, and the Orc Champ took advantage of this opening and soon the commander was killed. Unforunately with no more backup troops the Champ had left himself vulnerable to a devastating flurry of counter attacks and was soon destroyed. Immediately thereafter the battle was called on account of victory points, and the leaderless forces of good celebrated a moderate victory.
Oh yeah did I mention I was rolling ridiculously good at the beginning? That might have helped too :).
Final tally 60-0 VP for Tkort (end of round 6)
Great game OC! And thanks for a fantastic new map and super-fun scenario!

Clarification please. The scenario rules say that you may gain the benefit of a well/shrine by being within one of the four center squares and using a replaces attacks action. I read that to be attacks plural meaning a full attack action. Wouldn't you have to have already been in the circle when the turn started to have taken a full attack action and then move with the benefit of the GMA? | | Featherfall??! The GMA was in round 1, and the Pegasus had not yet activated when he used it. He moved the pegasus into the circle with the GMA, then on the pegasus actual activation, The horse drank from the well received the bonus and moved his printed speed (F10) toward the hilltop. The GMA just got him there before his round 1 activation. The gaining of the bonus and resulting move took place as outline by scenario rules. make sense?

I'm fairly certain the replaces attacks language is just like the regular replaces attacks for using a special ability. Meaning you can move printed speed and make a single attack or use a special ability or make a single attack or use a special ability and move printed speed. The only thing you cannot do is move double speed. The Grant Move Action occurs during the IM's turn, so all of the figures that move haven't taken their turns yet.

| "replaces attacks" is standard DDM term. See Rulebook V2 page 22, and glossary under "replace/replaces".
Basically, it is a standard action. If you "replace attacks" you cannot perform any (single or full) attack action that turn. You may perform the 2nd standard action as a move, just like spellcasters move then cast, or cast then move - same set of rules apply. | | There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't. I probably misread - but do you have to assign Lt. xp immediately? I thought it said that you could basically horde it and assign at a later date.
From the rules: "Creatures eligible to receive lieutenant experience are limited to those creatures that have survived the battle without having been eliminated from the match and meet all the requirements to become a lieutenant..."

Support: Abyssal Maw x4 Warlord XP: +1000 XP / +1500 CP (9500 exp, 14000 campaign points) Warlord Leveling: +1 level, +1 attack, +10 HP, +1 commander rating, extra attack Lieutenant: 500 XP to Drizz'l the Drider Sorcerer (1500 exp total) Lieutenant Leveling: N/A Magic Item Gained: (med) +1 armor of commander (+1 Commander Rating if any) Magic Item Lost: None
Losing Warlord: Thom Waits the Warchanter (AesophDarkfable (CG)) Thoms's Warband: Thom, Rask, Celestial Pegasus x2, Talenta Halfling, Protectar, Cat Benatar the Catfolk Wilder. A small army of summoned azers as well. Warlord XP: +250 XP / +250 CP Warlord Leveling: none Magic Item Gained: (min) +1 Armor Magic Item Lost: None
Summary
This was revenge for Thom spurning Gharag's offer of alliance a week or so ago.
I had a couple bands I was thinking about, one that was sorta geared to the scenario and the one that I brought, which was just pure beatdown. I had no intention of letting the game go 6 rounds.
The game lasted like 3 rounds, helped out by some poor rolls by AD. His pegasus failed morale, the other pegasus missed a smite on Gharag by rolling a 1 on a conceal check, rask routed, rask missed the invisible OC twice due to conceal 11, and the drider generally put things where they needed to be, giving me some room for error with being put out of command, although Thom ended up hanging back and not really putting any of my guys ooc.
In the end with Cat dead, a pegasus routed, the other one dead, and rask routing, AD conceeded. Good game.

| | After Thoms embrassing loss he is rooting for his ally this week. In order to help this he has sent an emissary on Pegasus back to take Bertha the boots of fire resist 15, and bring back the potion of fireballs and armor of hide +1. Expect a report from Berthas end once the goods are received. This marks their allowed trade for this week 35. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat. | |

Don't you have to make the trade before either of the involved warlords plays their game?

| | "You can trade the item at any time. The only limitation is one trade per week. And of course this trade must be posted before any match in which the new items are used." From the rules thread. We're all good. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat. | |
