The lack of replies to your post suggests that a great number of people find the Centaur Hero simply too expensive for its cost. For 78 points, I'd rather get an FB and a Crow Shaman. See what I mean?

But I'll take a gander.

Here are three builds I'll play competitively if I''m forced to use the Centaur Hero:

FB Combo
IM
Centaur Hero
FB
Graycloak Ranger
Wolf Minion
Elf Warriors x5
Gnome Recruits x2
12 activations

Goliath Combo
IM
Centaur Hero
Goliath Barbarians x2
Ialdabode
Elf Warriors x5
Gnome Recruits x2
12 activations

HEBI Combo
IM
Centaur Hero
HEBI
Graycloak Rangers x2
Wolf Minions x2
Elf Warriors x5
12 activations

Here's a warband that pairs the Centaur Hero with the Greenfang Druid. By turn 2 the Centaur and Druid are Blurred and Regenerating. The tactic is to hang back by the start tile and outgun your opponent, forcing him to come to you. When he closes, the Centaur, Druid and Bariaur are not bad in melee. This warband will be sucessful if it can soften up the opposition before contact and get a few Blur checks to go its way

Bariaur is a solid unit and is thrown in for flavor. It is easily replaced with a Greycloak to get 12 activations.

50 Greenfang Druid
78 Centaur Hero
18 Nebin
16 Bariaur Ranger
15 Greylcoak + Wolf
16 Elf Warrior x4
7 Ragnara
200 points / 11 activations

I don't know, Doc. Getting the GFD (Greenfang Druid) just so you can Regenerate the Centaur Hero and only 1 piece to enjoy the GFD's commander effect? Doesn't look efficient to me. I mean, woudn't it be better to just have a Healer instead if you don't plan on using a number of animals/magical beasts anyway?

It just looks a bit ironic coming from you, especially after reading your previous arguments in the other threads.

How about:

Centaur Hero 78
Bariaur Ranger x2 32
Bladesinger 34
Crow Shaman 26
Graycloak Ranger 15
Wolf
Elf Warrior x3 12
Gnome Recruit 3

200 pts, 11 activations

Mobile, low AC. Bladesinger takes advantage of mobility, Shaman takes care of AC, among other things...

Centaur, MEF, IM, and filler

Just a simple traveler from the swamps of Dagobah otherwise known as Florida. Also known as Hurricane Alley!
I always try to send through delivery confirmation, and I expect the same. It's only 55 cents extra, so it's just a little more than a pay phone call, so just do it for the Kai. I prefer to trade with people in the US and Canada, sorry everyone else.

I took my dual HEBI warband and turned it into this warband featuring a Centaur.

Ryld Argith
Centaur Hero
HEBI
Elf Warrior x6

Plays like classic dual HEBI warbands, but now has a great heavy hitter.

I haven't tested out the Centaur Hero very much yet, but I'm thinking that a Moon Elf Fighter would go well with him, especially with some other hitters in the warband (HEBIs, Berserkers, Goliaths, etc.).

A Cleric of Garl Glittergold and a Githyanki Renegade might do well with the Centaur as well. Cast Sanctuary on the Githyanki then dimension door him into the middle of the enemy warband, basing as many important enemy figures as possible. Next round the enemy either has to get rid of the Githyanki and give the Centaur Hero a free round of 15 magic damage ranged attacks or risk 15 magic damage attacks of opportunity to get away from the Githyanki and continue to advance on the Centaur. Either way they're taking a pounding. You'd need activation control to utilize that plan, though.

Sorry, Mr.Walrus, that won't work. Read Sanctuary again. Once you end the Githyanki Renegade's turn, he loses the protection of the Sanctuary.

Crap. Oh well, at least the part with either having to get rid of the Githyanki or take attacks from him will still work if he can be positioned properly, and that's the most important part of the plan.

WHOA! I thought of that too! Ooohhh... I like that band.

I kind of wanted to fit in a bladesinger rather than IM, but still not sure, also... 2xgnome recruit? I'd rather use just one elf warrior... I've NEVER seen them do anything. Maybe its just me though.
