| First you should head on over to the Wizard's site and familiarize yourself with the DCI floor rules. These cover most of the "sanctioned" tournament events and formats.

Second, you should head over to the meetingplace forum here on MaxMinis and find others in your area to play against/with.
And if you're heading to GenCon, be sure to check out the MaxMinis event stickied at the top.
PS... I know it's a drive but there are some folks way over in Austin that are active here and play ... still quite the drive ... | | Triangle DDM Skirmish Group | My Email | 45-ish trades and counting | Stuff for Trade * * * Show your brother some love and click here * * * | |

| There is a pair of very good articles over at hordelings.com that talk about tile placement, particularly with teh advents of Assault and Plunder tournament formats.
Also, look around for Kiddoc's excellent manuscript on his experience at the DDM National Championship at last years GenCon. If you go to the WotC site, you'll also find a good article from Kiddoc in the most recent copy of the Web Fanzine that they publish that talks about how to be a better player.
Welcome to MaxMini's, there is a TON of information you can uncover on this website, and DON'T be afraid to ask lots of questions, even if you do get a few replies with attitude, someone will answer your questions.

| | Theres alot to absorb but just read alot. Threads on tourneys, strategy articles on Merrics page, etc. I guess playing is the biggest thing. So if you can't get games in the big D, hit Vassal (find the vassal thread for instructions on how) | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat. | |

| Thanks for all the links and advice. Much appreciated.
Stabmastaarson - You'd think a city the size of Dallas would have more support for DDM and other miniature games but if you're not into Warhammer or Flames of War your choices in the Big D are very few and far between if not nil. There just are not very many places to even buy the boosters much less play - and store owners who push the game and hold events are non-existent. I need to get rich so I can open a store and do it right LOL! | | Champion of the ???
