Well, that's why I hid the word "sturdiest" in there. I'm looking for a commander that's likely to live long enough to make it worthwhile to include.
Some commanders are great because of this spell or that effect, but the pieces aren't likely to last long enough to make it worth it. Some commanders have more staying power. I was thinking the Dwarven Defender might last, especially if he's kept behind the front lines until the game gets seriously combative.

| Young master or Couatl as the forward commander because they are fast enough to keep up w/ LSD's.
Cleric of Lathander for the rear, but thats just me. | | They just don't know what's good in life...Conan, tell them what is good in life. To rip the boosters. To count the minis spilled out before you, and to hear the indifference of the women...

| | I'd go PDK or Couatl. There's no level cap on the PDK's fear cone, and the huge's Save=10 is a major liability for them. The Couatl's Snake's Swiftness actually has some decent targets in 500, unlike in 200, where 15 damage seems to be as good as it gets (for now). No commander will last for long against a huge, so I would focus more on keeping the enemy away while my huge pummels the enemy. | | Champion of the Entire Monster Manual 1! | | Still Purple Dragon Knight for me. If you know in advance that you will be facing huge creatures with save 10, that fear cone starts to look half-decent. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

I like something like this.
Couatl x3 WF Titan x2 Dwarf Artificer Sword of Herinous Aramil
But yeah sub a couatl for a PDK for that nice fear cone. you can shoot it through the titans because they are immune as constructs. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

| | Why not go with Mordy, PDK, and Couatl? Nice tech in there, and the three of them aren't likely to die all at once... | | "It's an automatic robot, based on science." | |
