| | The roper (just looking at the fig and having no prior knowledge of it) should have some sort of pull attack where it can recah (atlest 6 squares, so you could make it a range attack) and it pull the enemy to a selected square (within its reach) and makes a single melee attack...that would be nice :D | | PS. This is what the alphabet would look like if Q and R were removed

| The roper does have a move speed of 10 feet, aka 2 squares.
Prolly have a 10 square reach, must succeed on a save or take something along the lines of Ray of Enfeeble. Drag them closer if they fail another save. attack for 10dam when near. somethin like that, just guessin.[:D] | | "I'm feelin pretty good today. | | Ropers are stalactite-creatures that live in caves, ergo they will have cave-setup. As per its strand attack, they will probably reduce the strand attack from 10 sq. to around 4 or 5. | | Let's make a thread about it.

but I really don't expect these to be top skirmish pieces save potentially Artemis. He'll be too expensive for me to field if he is comparable to Drizzit.
Artemis will have 2 sets of cards, one for skirmish and one for epic battles. I do not know any more then that | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

I'm pretty sure they did. Remember, we'll have 15 maps, eventually, so at least one of them will have cave areas on it. Probably more like 3-5. | | I now have a Have/Want list updated with all my rares! Stop by to take a look! Trade References: www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8560

| He's chaotic evil. And if you go by what the handbook says on converting creatures into skirmish his stats would look something like:
Levl/save: 10 Speed: 2 AC: 24 HP: 85 Attack: something weird* type: large magical Beast
Immune to electricity, cold resist 30 (more likely 20 for skirmish), double damage from fire, spell resistance.
*attacks: the attacks are odd, when they hit they slide the target towards the mouth which would be an attack of +8 (10). the tentacles also drain strength, so would probably be like ray of enfeeble. But I would suspect they would be more of a ranged attack. who knows on this attack for teh monster. But the thing has 6 +11 attacks with tentacles.
for the other two i do not know artemis' stats. and the miner is probably another kobold as usual lol. | | I am a Copper Dragon- dragonhame.com

| As for special abilities, if I was making the Roper, and trying to make it useful in skirmish, I'd work it's special abilities like this.
Cave Setup
Hide or "Cave Hide" (considered hidden if any part of a cave tile provides cover)
Ropes (any enemy within 6" at the end of this creature's turn must save or be affected by Enfeeblement and is considered entangled, save at the end of each turn to break entanglement)
Slide (any creature entangled by the Ropes can be moved up to 3 squares directly towards the roper)
Something like that would make up for the Fire Vulnerability and make this guy useful. They really have to give him Hide and some kind of cave setup in order to force enemies to have to come close enough to engage him that his speed won't make him completely useless.
It's entirely possible that WoTC will figure the RPG use is enough and totally screw up the Roper's stats so it can't possibly even be experimented with in competitive play.
However, if it can set up in a forward position, hidden, and threated everything within 6 at the end of it's turn with an RoE and Entangle, it becomes the type of threat it is to adventuring parties in D&D.
Ropers are highly intelligent and strike from suprise, taking advantage of their natural surroundings.
--
I do think that Artemis Entreri will be either cheaper or better than Drizzt. He probably won't be a commander, yet, he may have scout. He's very likely to have other things to make up for his lack of spell resistance and blur. His second attack is likely to be vampiric, and he'll probably have some kind of "Hunter" or "Seize the Initiative". He may have some sneak attack damage, and he probably has Evasion instead of SR.
If they make him correctly, he'll be more than a match for almost any foe in a 1-1 situation. He may even have a save or be killed type attack.

| I'm pretty sure Artemis will have a WICKED sneak attack.
He may also have life drain (vampiric dagger) & fire/acid damage from Charon's Claw.
In the books, He also has the gauntlet for Charon's Claw that 'catches' magic thrown his way. That may counter act the lack of SR or the lack of conceal. | | Originally posted by Schooly_D Username - he deals in minis Champion of Lhesh Haruuc Shaarat'kor
