my friend and i argued about this last night. help me prove him wrong.

1. my creature, who has not activated this round, is targeted for a stun attack and fails the dc. when it is my turn to activate 2 creatures, i can activate him and even though he cannot move, attack, cast spells etc, stun is removed, correct? he does not get the -2 AC any longer for being stunned.

2. my creature who has already activated this round is targeted for a stun attack and fails the dc. i win the next initiative and on my first activation i choose him, stun is removed but he cannot do anything, correct? he no longer has -2 AC.

thanks

Yes and yes. You are correct on both accounts.

Best ways to use Stun:

1 - As an Attack of Opportunity. If it works, it not only stops the opponent's activation, but he doesn't get to remove stun until the FOLLOWING activation.

2 - After the opposing piece activates (at least you have until it activates again the next round).

3 - Just before it activates to do something important. Sure, you won't get any benefits of the stun, but, it still stops the unit from doing whatever it was going to do.

In case #3, the effects of Stun (AC penalties, allowing sneak attacks, etc.) don't really come into play other than having to use the activation to clear up the stun.

Completed good trades with Demagogue, PigSnot, DoB, and Alepulp.

so an inactive creature (stunned)does in fact activate but cannot do anything other than become unstunned. i think he was confused because the figure is "inactive" and he thought that meant he doesnt activate.

No, you still have to roll but the defender gets a -2 AC penalty

Righto. Stunned is like flicking on the light switch and not having the light come on. For a second there, you're perplexed. Long enough for someone to get a better chance to put some smack on you. But, it's nothing like paralysis.

Saving stuns for an Attack of Opportunity....wow, that's pretty good. I never even considered it. Of course I don't play too many monks, but it's a good idea.

for some reason that question made sence to me when i typed it up, but now that i am looking back at it it doesn't ask the question that i wanted to ask at all. What i wanted to ask is when using melee sneak attack against a stunned creature, do you still have to be flanking to get the extra damage from the sneak attack?

Nope. If the target is stunned, you get sneak attack damage whether the target is flanked or not.

I once had two gravehounds take down an Eye o Gruumsh by themselves. Nasty little buggers.
