| | I still like the notion of using the bugbear champion of e. Those frightens are quite good for trying to enslave critters that are normally killed instead of routing, or gaining an extra morale save on something that's at low hp. I'd probably at least try the ravager as well. | | **Note: Unless otherwise stated all my minis are unbagged** My reference thread is at: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12765 Graduate school is swollowing my soul!!!! | Well since you say that....with 2 spells according to the descrption: 2nd [][]-- summon monster II (evil Outsiders with total cost 10 or less)
Is it actually 2 or....? | | Gehenna

| With each casting, you can summon a number of evil Outsiders who add up to 10 points total. So your choice of:
-2 Maws -2 Lemures -1 Hell Hound -etc.
With two castings, you can summon 2 Maws each time for a total of 4. | | Champion of Neogi

| Okay, here's a Bugbear Champ build...
95 Balor 34 Bugbear Champion of Erythnul 38 Ogre Ravager 11 Cursed Spirit 09 Orc Warrior x3 09 Warrior Skeleton x3 04 Zombie
200 points, 11 activations.
After the first two fodder units are killed, the Orc Warriors start doing 15 damage and the Skeletons 10 when within the CE of the Bugbear champ. This build does suffer from a lower command rating, which means the Balor will rout 1/3 of the time roughly. You'll rack up a sweet initiative bonus as your fodder gets massacred.

| | Ah, yes, that's the kind of build I was suggesting. You can pull a -5 on morale saves, and force them sometimes. I'm not sure exactly how well it will work, and you'll practically have to keep the balor in combat to be effective, but if push comes to shove, you can practically steal their low cost fodder, or force a second morale on a good roll on their part. I mean a duergar champ with 30 hp is still pretty effective. And the cursed spirit allows you to exactly get 35pts of damage in. One problem I can see is the desire to hold back on enemies in order to have a possibly better enslaved minion. | | **Note: Unless otherwise stated all my minis are unbagged** My reference thread is at: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12765 Graduate school is swollowing my soul!!!! | Okay, here's a question WRT the Balor I've been wondering about...
The Red Tide ability, per the card, gives the Balor a commander rating for initiative purposes only of 1 per creature eliminated from all warbands. Now, when you take over a creature with the Enslave ability, it counts as eliminated for victory points, and joins your warband.
So my question is, when a creature is Enslaved, does it also count as eliminated for the purposes of Red Tide? I assume not, since the Enslave ability specifies victory points, and that it would only count once the piece was physically eliminated from the board. Am I mistaken in this?
