| Yesterday, on one of my commutes, I was thinking about using more than one Slayer. The problem, of course, is the prohibitive cost of doing so. The advantage, of course, is that your opponent has to be really careful about figure placement so as to not get himself in hot water.
But, I think that the advantage of fielding one such figure is enough to justify inclusion, but the advantage of fielding two isn't enough to justify both. I'd stick with bands that use one such Slayer.

| | It may not be competative but the thought of two slayers flanking one high cost figure and knowing your opponent can't stop both of them before they slay it...... priceless.[:D] | | | |

| The only problem I see with two Slayers is that more than likely only one will have an off chance of being useful. At least one of them will be swarmed by fodder it'll have to deal with and kill to get maybe 12-15 points at the most. I think the Slayer is an option much like a Pyromancer's or Red Wiz's fireball, Rikka's waylay, Wiz Tac's EMM, etc. In other words they make the player wary of that piece as a possible threat. Will it always be effective? Probably not 75% of the time.

| | Also, I'd switch out one Royal Guard/M@A for Aramil. I really like the idea of lowering an enemy beater's damage, but still getting its full damage used against it with JAs. | | | |

| | At what point do you decide to forego the high point figure and just start killing things with the slayer? I find myself holding the slayer out too long and getting into a hole trying for the big kill. A second slayer might help me mitigate that issue. | | Champion of Cyclops

| | Nice band. But it is risky as Vrecknidj said to run two slayers. one is less risky and u can kill the fodder with a piece with the points of the slayer that u had gotten rid of. Then the slayer and the x2 justice archons are can wail on a main piece. | | Champion of Bruenor Battlehammer | |

| I think part of the problem with your first band is that you use justice archons as your big hitters, and they just don't do enough damage consistently. Perhaps gith monks with a young master? Being able to do a garaunteed 60 damage will get most things down low enough for a slayer to kill him. Plus gith monks are quick enough to easily flank an enemy.
Might be interesting. | | | |

| | A HUGE problem is the Village Priest as a solo commander. A single, fast Assassin and you're in trouble, be it a Green Dragon, Githayanki Monk, Longstrider Ranger, Maybe even an Orc Brute if the line opens up. . | | Champion of Prit(Wemic vindication is here) Minneapolis/St. Paul area Completed trades: Aspect of Cheese (Love that moniker), Tickparasite, Elderthing, Lalato, Sodj, Grimoire, SmilinIrish, Zeb, RWarehall,Link, wikkawikkawa, Auramancer, Rommers, HK, Ivid5,Qillan_dvra, Puggins, Arcabius, Ironfist Boulderbender, Robby, Corim Danex, monster_slayer, DNDJUNKIE, Kelemvor, Krush, ckissee, Massawyrm, hockey fan, Wish, Uninspiring Lieutenant, vtloon x2, Vrecknidj, Darthpoke, WakeXX, AnarionZell, lycusmike, papabear5 and umpteen local trades with board members

| You know, a multi-Slayer band could be trouble in 500 points.
Large Silver Justicator (Epic) Cleric of Dol Arrah Slayer of Domiel x3 Justice Archon
You're relying a lot on the paralysis to work, but if it does, the Justicator and Justice Archon together should be able to do enough damage to drop most things to within the Slayer's killing range. And with three Slayers, one of them should drop a decent-point figure.
The problem, of course, is defense. You'll be up against things that can hit fast and hit hard and hit often, and so you'll have to keep a strong sense of mobility until you can get old LSD in there to blast away. Then you'll have to move in, kill (for 2x points) and get out.
Repeat.

I'm actually considering a 200 point slayer/medium silver combination ....
Jozan, Cleric of Pelor Azer Raider Azer Raider Cleric of Yondalla Justice Archon Couatl Slayer of Domiel Medium Silver Dragon
Dragon paralysis sets up a key foe, Justice archon mopves in for the flank and a hit, Slayer delivers a few key blows and then gets a snake swiftness (if necessary) from the Couatl to finish the job ...
Just an idea ... | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. BAD EBAY SELLERS LIST (CLICK HERE): AVOID AT ALL COSTS
