| You should of came down yesterday. The weather wasn't bad at all and the rodes were clear.
I would have to look at the Epic Iron, but I wasn't sure how impressive he ended up looking last time I checked. Don't have one yet so can't give a real good review.
I do like the justicator though. He's pretty interesting. Be careful with speed though. Assault format in 500 is 25 points per round. That can be overwhelming if your not getting tile points and your opponent is. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! | It was still snowing here, and I'm kinda glad I didn't otherwise I wouldn't have gotten to talk to my younger siblings whom I don't see or talk to nearly enough. Talk like Yoda we did, many laughs we had. Besides, I didn't get my preorder until Wednesday (my own fault), and had some online trading partners that I still have to finish deals up with. Next time I swing down that way I'm going to try and bring a ton to trade so warn the others. December 8th I think.
The Epic Iron Golem might be one of those peices that looks good on the card but fails in the execution. 30 AC, 3 attacks that shouldn't miss for 25 regular damage, Immune Fire, 150 Hitpoints, Take 5 less damage from attacks, save 14 and can posion agacent figs with a DC 19. That and the usual golem spell resistance all and melee reach 2. The bit that makes me consider it though is that it does NOT require a commander. Gets a little slower without one but with speed 4 to start with I'm not sure that is a deal breaker.
I am aware of the importance of tile points as I almost beat Jasons double Marut band the last time I was down based on that (if only I had gone after his cleric of Order). So while the gravehound isn't quite fast enough for first turn tile points on Queen of Peregrine (lost temple doesn't have victory areas and I have no idea what the Hellspike map allows), it can arrive on the second turn and requires something to waste at least a turn to get rid of it. I suppose I could swap out a Duergar Champion for a Green Dragon to get first turn tile points, but what should I spend the remaining 15 points on? A Wolf Skeleton to free up the Green Dragon and a Baaz hoping that it dies someplace useful? Actually that's not a terrible idea as it ups the activations to nine instead of eight.
I hope I'm not sounding like I am convinced of the superiority of my own idea. I don't have enough experiance with the format to spot the flaws, for example would the Rakshasa be a better commander? You loose the boosting of the Beholders DC, but gain what ever commander effects the other guy is running (though those may be worthless) and can push the IG another space if the Rakshasa doesn't have line of sight to the beholder. I am pretty sure that if the IG is worth running as an epic, it will have to be paired with Beholder as that is the only way to over come that speed 4 deficency, but is it really worth all those extra points? It costs almost as much as three beholders and a guath. I love the 200pt tool kits, is there any chance at ones for epic as well? | | Currently pending trades: Vrecknidj* What you need to know about trading with me. | |
