| In my area a lot of LG bands are tending to shift towards CMB (couatl-Marut-Warforged Bodyguard). Apparently the extra survivability granted to the marut by the bodyguard has attracted a lot more people to the warband.
I've been playing marut/couatl for a while (and am including the bodyguard now) but haven't played a lot of mirror matches.
What's a good strategy for a CMB vs CMB battle? Any good map suggestions? What about the remaining minis/points is it better to go with a better commander to win init or get more hitters or more solid defenders. What do you all think?

| | Healer. 12 points for some extra healing for the Bodyguard would help tremendously. Remember, you can't heal the construct, so you need to have the bodguard close to soak the damage and then the healer can keep him going. The couatl can heal too, but those actions are better spent on dealing damage. | | A wand of silence means never having to say you're sorry. CHAMPION OF THE ANNIS HAG!!! | |

| | Dwarf Artificer could help. +2 AC is nice, and rust construct would have a couple viable targets. | | Champion of the Entire Monster Manual 1! (Click link to see current progress!) Uncommon Painting Competition 2 Winner | |

| mmm, Dwarf Artificer might be the guy to swing this mirror match. Can Legions Shield of Faith first turn, second turn Great Magic weapon a Secondary hitter(could be the body guard) and third turn Rust the Enemy Marut. Rust causes lose of DR and SR, -4 AC and -5 damage to target construct. If he survives a turn in contact with the Marut, he can inflict too.
A different Play would be Village Priest with 3 Arcanix guard and just beat the crap out of the Marut. They swing at the marut for +13 (20 magic) and make there Moral Save 60% of the time. | | Beatdown Happens.... | |

| | I'll second the recommend for an artificer. As high AC enthusiast, I love the piece already. now with constructs more prevalent, it's definitely worth the cost, to me. | | Official Delegate, Wizards of the Coast Icons Called Shot: Gargantuan Prismatic Dragon "Rejoice, for bad things are about to happen." | |

| I've seen an Artificer seriously wreck a Marut and an Iron Golem on different occasions. In one game the Artificer player got off all it's spells against a Marut. There were just more important things for it to beat on. Very funny stuff.

| | The Marut is so tough that you need to build directly against it. The most direct way of hurting the Marut is through the Dwarf Artificer - man, I thought this piece was so useless when it came out, but with all of the Helmed Horrors and Maruts out there, now it's not looking so bad. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |
