| Playing skirmish tonight against a mirror band (almost).
mine Raskara Helmed Horror x2 Duergar Champ Green Dragon Kobold Minor x2
VS.
hisaka Aravis Raskara Helmed Horror Duergar Champ x3 (including "broken hand man") Kobold Minor x2 Wolf Skeley
Map used: Broken Demongate
A back and forth battle of stealing each others spells and the kicker in this skirmish of conceal, it lasted 9 rds! After the battle we estimated a miminmum of at least 2, sometimes 3 "his" side-per round conceals were missed. So doing the math upon engagement anywhere from 13 to 20 missed conceals. Though I lost, it was probably one of the most enjoyable skirmishes I have ever been involed in. Anybody else have that type of match before? | | Gehenna

| | What do you mean by saying "back and forth battle of stealing each others spells"? I dont get it. I know the rakshasa steals the CFX of the other band, but in this case you wouldnt get anything. So just was curious what that meant. | | Champion of a Knight of Takhisis/Knight of Neraka | |

| | Krush two answer your question I played often with the Epic Kord and Blur him. My Friends found it odd but the conceal 6 get's less hitten then conceal 11, it's just a phenomenon in our area. | | My Haves and wants: http://www.maxminis.com/hw_list.asp?user=Janos_M.

You have brought up a good point. IIRC the CFX includes spells as that was how it was played out. I thought it also only (the CFX).....but all in all still a good time.

I think what you mean Jim is that we were imitating eachother :).
"Hah! My Duergar attacks your Duergar twice..*rolls 15* ok conceal..*rolls 4* ARG!. Next..*rolls 18* conceal..*rolls a 1*. What the...I stare at the table at "broken hand man" (my duergar had one of his hands falling off so I dubbed him broken hand man.) while Jim and I are laughing. OK well that sucked, your up"
"My duergar on broken hand man :) *we chuckle* he hits.. concealed..hits concealed..!!"
"Repeat for about 5 rounds, while our Helmed Horrors beat eachother into subbmission, each with 5 HP left but can never land that last attack till my Duergar came up and smashed it :P"
It was pretty darn fun I must say :).
Good game Jim! It was fun stealing your commander effect that allowed me to steal another commander effect...:P | | Welcome to Eternal Crack... "Corn is no place for a mighty warrior!" Champion of the Frost Salamander

| You see, both of you should have sent your Helmed Horrors to kill the other guys' Duergar Champs.

Forgot, did you? [)] If you remember, then HHs should chew through Duergar Champs.

Aasimar is for my Bay Area meta, which is so in love with Duergar Champs that I half expect IanB, Doranur, and Aravis to walk into the next tourney married to them.

Aum...... Ζ]
I am predicting a metagame shift. Duergar champs and unusually frequent missed conceal 6 rolls have brought bad karma with them.
Maybe Wayne's prophetic rants of impending doom might amount to something! [)]

| I resently played a game against a rakshasa and 4 duergar champs and that conceal killed me.
I was playing an brass samurai, warbound impaler band (I know, I know but I like to play bands built with new set pieces when they first come out even if not viable, just to try them out)
about two or three rounds into the match I rolled a nat 20 against a Duergar champ with the Samurai and failed the conceal roll. This was a downward spiral for some reason karma desided to make me her bitch and I NEVER made another conceal roll the rest of the game.I never rolled over a 4 and lost badly, he didn't even loss a single mini the entire match in fact the only damage he took was from the Brass's breath weapon.
It was spooky but entirely true.

| About a month ago I was playing Young Master, Gith Monk x3, Ember, Cleric of Corellan Larethian and some filler against a band that contained a Draegloth, Drow Arcane Guard x2, Lolth Sting x2, Ravenous Vampite, and Feral Minotaur.
I missed 12 of my 13 stunning attacks, mostly due to conceal. I lost the match by 100pts. | | Champion of "Ember, Monk Champion"

| | At the 1st championships my one loss in the swiss rounds was against Manny Vega. We both were running CE drider builds. I had an early chance to gain a point advantage, but missed 2 attacks needing 6's to finish an orc warrior. We both blurred up our hitters and charged into battle. When the smoke cleared, I had missed 13 conceal checks, and he had missed 0. Yeah, I didn't win that one. | | Just this past Friday, I faced Conceal. A buddy was watching the match (we're working on him - he's not a regular player *yet*). I looked at him and told him that I miss closer to 75% of Conceal checks than the actual 25% they are. He looked a bit skepitcal... until I failed 3 out of my first 4 conceals. I managed 2 more hits to make it 3 out of 6 before the end of the match. I typically fail about 50% of conceal checks. Incorporeal is much worse to me. I think my second worst game was failing the first 9 Incorporeal checks, only to be beaten recently by failing 23 out of 25 Incorporeal checks. | | [http://www.hordelings.com/frontend/profiles/profile.php?user_id=22] | |

| | I've got an Epic band where almost every piece has conceal, most of them 11. I'm thinking of tweaking it to take Saturday, but I'm afraid I'll get beat up. | | | |

| Maijstral, I feel your pain. The only time I miss Conceal checks is after rolling a crit.
Incorporeal, OTOH... do failures just stick in the memory when successes don't? I NEVER make Incorporeal checks!
We need a decent figure with Blindsight and Ghost Touch. [:D]
