| This was a funny one. My buddy and I just played 200 with the few boosters we've got so far, he went evil, I went good.
He had:
Hag, Quaggoth Slave, Howling Orc, Tief Blademaster, War Troll (I think that was all)
I had:
Ballista, Warforged Scout, Champ, and Bodyguard, Combat Medic, Wood Elf Ranger, and Halfling Slinger.
I thought I was in real trouble from the start because of my limited mobility and the map we were on didn't suit range very well. But I got a bit lucky with rolls early and was well on my way to winning. In fact, I was pretty much on my way to a slaughter
As it came down to the wire, I realized a big problem...my Ballista had no melee attack! We were down to his hag at full power vs my Ballista, medic, and slinger all at full power...trouble is, all he had to do was base my ballista to make it useless...I had to keep running, getting hit with AoO's, and pray to win initiative the 2nd round!
It really came down to rolls but I did end up getting rid of the hag eventually. Here's the funniest part...talk about David vs Goliath...my slinger dealt the final blow to his War Troll, Blademaster, AND Hag! He also had successful attacks against both the others.
Anyway, first skirmish I've played in a long time and it reminded me how fun this game is. Now I need to go get more boosters. :) | |
