| | Today I have ran the warbound impaler and realized that its a good piece.For its cost it has a lot of HP and high level.Its a plant ergo its inmune agains a lot of effects.Has two attacks (this is an important thing)with a high ratio (+14 in both attacks is superior).And the most interesting thing is its paralizing ability with a high DC (17).Its higher thant the gauth or lich and thats a very dangerous thing if there,s a goliath or wemic around.Believe me,this warbound impaler works well.I have paralyzed an orc champion with the first attack (10 damage),the second is automatic impact (20 damage) and then,a wemic come and attack (50 auto damage) for a total of 80 auto damage.The result?And orc champion obliterated without problems and my oponnet withdrawing.But be alert!!The impaler has bad encounters too....like the marut.Man,I,m beginning loving this plant. | |

| It's good, but like the Khumat, large pieces are really bad for it. If you get unlucky, you might have just waisted 1/4 of your 200 point warband...
Like you mentioned Marut makes it cry and so does LEs main beaters, Helmed Horror and Duergar Champion. | |

IM is one of the most efficient commanders out there. His GMA(grant move action) can be game breaking. It allows you if done right to move great distances to base an opponent, get attacks at the end of the turn, and if win init get attacks at the beginning basically ending the game before it begins. This is a basic 3FB model replacing one of the FBs with the Impaler. | |

| | I pulled one of these in our local release tournament, and I quickly realized that it's best weapon is the fact that it looks nastier than it actually is. I won the release, but it wasn't because of this piece. I used 2 mephling pyros to deal damage, and the warbound to absorb attacks. No one figured that the mephlings were dangerous, they always focused on the nasty plant thing. The truth is that there are a lot of large/ immune paralysis figures out there and the impale is too specific to be useful. The critter has a lot of hp, but that's about all it has going for it. 10 damage is not enough on a 52 pt "hitter". JMO though [:D] | |
