| | Too few activations in each case. There are too many flying and high speed creatures to run Urthok in that band- you need someone a bit tougher. | | It's deja vu all over again. | |

| The one with the Champs is definitely better although you should break one into more activations/support.
The first lacks activations, the large bases can make it hard to get into attack positions, and your opponent only needs to destroy your weakest creature to defeat the entire warband.

| The first one you put your eggs all in one basket. If Ulthork dies then you lose the gaem as the Iron Golem and all 3 Chraals go poof!
The second one you might want to replace a champ with 2 Large Dueagars and a 3 pt fodder so you have full activations. | | What does this button do?

| | I'd say Chraals are a bad idea with Urthok. Too squishy to tie them to him. Remove one Duergar from the second warband, add some more activations/VP grappers and its a decent warband. | | Champion of the Sarrukh | |

| | I'm with low Key and Rick001 change one duergar in your second band to filler. | | My Haves and wants: http://www.maxminis.com/hw_list.asp?user=Janos_M.

| How about
urthok Duergar champ x4 Large duergar x2 kobolt miner
Large duergars are nice, and you get to 8 activations and a close to decent tile grabber.

A single Kobold Miner isn't really a tile grabber. He's a forlorn hope. You need two or three of the beasts to stand a real shot. What would you say to :
34 Urthok 45 Helmed Horror 99 Duergar Champ (x3) 15 Lg. Duergar 06 Kobold Miner (x2) 8 @ 199 pts. _________________________________ If you only dedicate one slot, you'll want something that can reliably get you those first round points. At the same time you could introduce a bit of variety into your mix.
34 Urthok 45 Helmed Horror 37 Blood Ghost Beserker 35 Chraal 28 Green Dragon 15 Lg. Duergar 06 Warrior Skelton (x2) 8 @ 200 pts.
Easy options include: Warrior Skeletons for Goblin Skirmishers or Kobold Miners. Chraal for a Duergar Champ and upgrade the WS to Duergar Warriors. Lg Duergar for DMM if you're keeping the Chraal and HH. etc.
In some ways the hardest thing about LE is the sheer number of good options in the 33-45 range.

| | Lawful evil currently has several good fighters. Of the two options posted, I would definitely go with the second one (Duergar Champions). Urthok is still a very good commander for LE, but I think it would be better to mix up your hitters as suggested by LeClaire. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |
