| With 2 speed gone the way of the dinosaur, what would be your choice for LG 3pt fodder?
Man At Arms has the best melee stats aside from speed, but Human Commoner has speed 6.
Which would you choose? | | My online store http://store.hoardsters.com Use quick search to see scans of every stat card!

| Hmmmmm..... tough call. [:)]
Not really though. In any serious tournament I would still use the Man at Arms. LG has better options for grabbing victory points like the Warforged Scout which I'd try to work into my warband before using a human commoner.
On the other hand in a just for fun game with friends or non-scanctioned tournament I'd go with the commoner, why not? He's more fun. [:p]

| | The question is what you are going to using it for (obviously). Most of the time the Man-at-Arms is going to be your better option (because of the armor class) but if you're playing on Teleport Temple for example and you want figures to cover teleporters, then Human Commoner with higher speed is your better option. Again, depends on what you are doing with them. | | | |

| For mobility I would go with the commoner over the MAA, but since I only own 1 human commoner, I am kind of limited....
Since we usually play triad, I have been rethinking having any weak fodder at all in my bands. With bounty I am much more inclined to run six activations, and upgrade the fodder a bit. | | Champion of Remorhaz, and the Mighty Goblin Frog Riders

| | I'm going to stick with my Men-at-Arms. I would only use the Human Commoner when I'm using the Cleric of St. Cuthbert (Speed 6 means they'll get to the enemy and get killed before the rest of you units, and the low AC makes them easier to kill, activating the Cleric's commander effect). | | Check out my DDM Blog: http://scifirules.livejournal.com "I will pay my dues when you send me my tusks!" -Strong Bad Champion of Chainmail Equivalencies | Knight of Efficient Fodder WotDQ Called Shot: Large Green Dragon (VINDICATED) | Blood War Called Shot: Large Brass Dragon | Unhallowed Called Shot: Skeletal Troll

| Human Commoners almost always.
Perhaps with an Arcane Ballista I might want one or more Men At Arms. The Ballista is vulnerable to being based by a Timber Wolf, and if I can get some way of doing 10 damage to the Wolf without using any of my important figures, that's a big edge. Man-At-Arms have much better to hit.
However, in general, the 'fodder war' is gone in 8 fig limit, and the ac 19 will far less useful than the mobility of the Commoner.

| | My vote for the man-at-arms because high AC that can resist attacks. And cool looking too. | | LOVE THIS GIRL | |
