| Anyone going to guess at the stats of the newest huge?
It's got to have swallow whole (medium or smaller creatures), but what DC? It also needs poisonous sting which (gives a minus to attack) and burrowing. Anything else? Blind fight maybe? | | Champion of Aspect of Juiblex (with Oozemaster) and Aspect of Skurmsh!

| | I'm thinking blindsight but not sure on that. Burrow is a given swallow whole I'd guess 17ish to keep points down, sting might just be damage depends of how many other abilities they give it. | | Asystole is a stable heart rhythm | |

| I'd love to see extra damage if it attacks after a burrow.

It won't be 102 points no matter what stats it has. I'm almost completely sure I remember one of the WotC guys saying (at Winter Fantasy) that all Huges will be 141+ points, and come with an Epic card only, no non-Epic card. Since Huges aren't legal in 200 pt anyway, they want to make it so that no one expects them to be. (Wanting to play a Treant in 200 pt was a common occurance).

There's really no need to give it extra damage on a turn that it burrows, since when does anybody not use the burrow ability on a piece that has it? I'm just thinking that I don't see a lot of umber hulks walking around...just give it a bonus to attack and damage on a turn that it moves before attacking | | Call me: W.N. | | I dont know what abilities it will have, but I hope the new huge creatures won,t be so useless than the others in giants expansion. The only true good huges are fomorian and storm giant.I hope all the new huges will be a lot of powerful and not so expensive for their low power. | | LOVE THIS GIRL

| | Since Save=10 rule is no more and all the Huges will cost over 141 points, the problem of sucky low-end huges is hopefully gone... | | Champion of the Sarrukh | |

Yep. Here is what the preview says:
"The first is the business end of the (Huge Uncommon) Purple Worm, a chaotic creature that takes man-sized bites, delivers a devastating weakening poison, and enjoys crawls in the rain. "
So we know it is Chaotic and has a weakening poison. And Burrow is pretty much a given (as stated before in this thread). | | Champion of Neogi

| Hmm, here's a 150ish point version that's fairly close to the Monster Manual stats:
Emerging Purple Worm CG/CE; Uncommon; 150 pts Lvl 12; Spd 4; AC 19; HP 200 Melee Attack: +20/+15 (25 + swallow whole/20 + weakening poison) Type: Huge Magical Beast Special Abilities: - Weakening Posion (-2 to hit, -5 damage, DC 25) - Swallow Whole (Destroy smaller creature, DC 17) - Burrow 4 - Melee Reach 3
I dunno, they might have to beef him up to make him worth 150 points. Maybe double the effect of the poison to -4 to hit, -10 damage. Or maybe the swallow whole would make him worth it right there. Still, on a speed 4 huge creature, by the time you swallow anything, the fight might already be decided.
I'm not really seeing anything that the creature right out of the Monster Manual has to contribute. I mean, he's got a crappy AC, a downright terrible speed, and doesn't even do a lot of damage, for what you might expect a huge worm to do. Luckily, the DDM designers usually do a good job making the creature interesting while retaining its flavor. I'm curious to see what they do to the big purple noodle. | | Champion of the Rakshasa. No comment on the cost but the stats are about right. I'd guess it has blindsight as well. It may have 16HD but Save 10 would be the MM average and what should be used. Swallow whole will probably have a lower DC or just be a big damage bonus similiar to the T-Rex Chomp.

My Epic Greenfang Druid warbands wouldnt mind those stats too much. Maybe if it were a little faster, it would be nice, but I could certainly live with this one. | | Champion of the Sarrukh
