The Marut can't be pinned in these situations. Single-Minded does not limit a Marut's actions if it can't trace line of sight to the enemy commander(s). I'll get revised language on my clarifications page some time later, but it may have to wait a day or two.

| well.marut useless, don´t think so. You need to see comander in melee reach for not hit enemy not comanders or move, but marut can hit commander, in king road, if marut dont have LoS with Commander it can move normally, because marut don´t see comander, so single minded is not applicable.
In thin-walls, is the same if marut don´t have line of sight and melee reach with the commander, single minded isnt useful. Even with Blindsight, the hability dont work.
Marut need to be: 1. Have LoS with the comander 2. Commander need to be en marut melee reach
Ok, let see: M= marut C= Commander -- = thin wall
..MM.. ..MM.. ------ ...C..
Marut is in melee reach, but it can´t see the Commander so single minded is not triger.

| I never thought it was useless and I figured they'd make some modification to the rules as per LOS and Single-Minded. It just doesn't make sense that it has to attack something it can't see. Marut would be standing in the forest saying, "I know there's a commander around here somewhere, I just can't see one. Oh well I'll just sit here and wait until I can." It just seems a bit silly.

| I've fixed the thread title (which used to read "oh well... MARUT NO LONGER USELESS ;)").
I never considered the Marut useless, I was just poking a bit of fun at the folks who were tearing up their Marut stat cards in other threads. [)] | | | |

Can't argue logic like that [)]
I do have to say this makes more sense. If there's no LOS to the commander how could the Marut know he had to hang out in that spot? Nice to see it logically concluded. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Invisible commander probably means no LoS. Commander with Sanctuary would be realistic the Marut is "trying" to hit the commander, but the spell stops it.

| Well it's nice to see that a rules "loophole" has been closed. Would have changed the shift of the game and the Marut would have had to be banned (just like the Drider) for making the game too obnoxiously teedius.
Looks like my anti-Marut tech is still a go.[:p] | | Never teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of time and it annoys the pig.

| | Use aramil for ray of enflebement (reduce damage) and 2 Cleric of Garlglittergold and when you win iniciative, you usea sanctuary and put it adjacent to the Marut, then go with all you have, in the next round if you win iniciative, use the same, so you have to rounds for eliminate it, maybe works!!! | | Againts the Giants Called Shot: Cattie Bri. | | Its not like that one single ruling would have prevented any Marut's showing up. I reallyd oubt it would have even affected much, but it got everyone up in a tiff, which was surprising. I like the rule after its been fixed, but if it would have stayed, it wouldnt have "ruined" a lot in my opinion. | | Champion of a Knight of Takhisis/Knight of Neraka | |
