| | Nope. Not enough of them, or community interest in them. | | I am not gone. | |

| I realy enjoy 100 point games. They're quick, often allowing you to get in many more games during a tournament that the other formats. Plus they have the advantage of bringing out some minis that never see play in the 200 or 500 point games.
That being said 100 point games aren't "official" anymore and unless they make a sudden comeback in popularity I don't think they'll need a DCI category. | | | |

I think the lack of community interest has much do do with it not being a DCI format, therefore people concentrate towards 200 & 500 more.

| 100-pointers are my favorite! They rock! They're quick, don't rely on the "formula" as much, and allow a lot of alternate figures to be used tha never see the table otherwise. They allow for a lot more creativity and a lot less knowing what others will bring. If you want to know 60% to 70% (or more) of what you'll be facing, build a formula band and just have another boring tournament, just go 200 Assault. 100 is a great change of pace.
100-pointers are also far less rare-dependent than 200 or (especially) Epic so WotC doesn't like them as much. | | Champion of Prit(Wemic vindication is here) Minneapolis/St. Paul area Completed trades: Aspect of Cheese (Love that moniker), Tickparasite, Elderthing, Lalato, Sodj, Grimoire, SmilinIrish, Zeb, RWarehall,Link, wikkawikkawa, Auramancer, Rommers, HK, Ivid5,Qillan_dvra, Puggins, Arcabius, Ironfist Boulderbender, Robby, Corim Danex, monster_slayer, DNDJUNKIE, Kelemvor, Krush, ckissee, Massawyrm, hockey fan, Wish, Uninspiring Lieutenant, vtloon x2, Vrecknidj, Darthpoke, WakeXX, AnarionZell, lycusmike, papabear5 and umpteen local trades with board members

| I like 100s because you can really create some cool theme based bands: Dwarves, Drow, Elves, Halflings, Goblins, Undead.
All of these are playable and fun as long as you limit the big hitters from appearing. The biggest problem is that they have some hitters that are below the 70% line that appear to spoil all the fun... can you say "War Troll" I think the limit should be dropped to 35% or 50% of a warband cost. 35% would eliminate the CE big 4 (Ogre Ravager, Orc Champion, Red Samurai, and Eye of Gruumsh). 50% does eliminate a few commanders that don't normally see 200 point play though.
I like using 100 point bands to teach D&D Miniatures because many players know all about Kobolds, Orcs, Goblins and the PC races. | | "You are not the sum of your miniatures."

Actually, the big hitters you mention haven't done as well in 100. We had a 100 a few weeks ago where three War Troll bands showed up and won zilch. Death Slaad and other CE big sticks? Zilch. The chaotics have low enough ACs you can swarm them in 100 when there's only one of them. Anti swarming with the Brass Samuari? Nice idea, but not good in practice as your commander is over half your band. | | Champion of Prit(Wemic vindication is here) Minneapolis/St. Paul area Completed trades: Aspect of Cheese (Love that moniker), Tickparasite, Elderthing, Lalato, Sodj, Grimoire, SmilinIrish, Zeb, RWarehall,Link, wikkawikkawa, Auramancer, Rommers, HK, Ivid5,Qillan_dvra, Puggins, Arcabius, Ironfist Boulderbender, Robby, Corim Danex, monster_slayer, DNDJUNKIE, Kelemvor, Krush, ckissee, Massawyrm, hockey fan, Wish, Uninspiring Lieutenant, vtloon x2, Vrecknidj, Darthpoke, WakeXX, AnarionZell, lycusmike, papabear5 and umpteen local trades with board members

| | I never liked the 100 pt format. Too many cool pieces are hard to run in the 100 arena: Large Red Dragon, Drizzt, Beholder, etc. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| | Those pieces can't be run in 100pt because of the 70% rule. | | "You are not the sum of your miniatures."
