| Hi all!
I was going to post this on the WoTC forum but they're down atm :( I just pulled both an Elminster and a Rikka from boosters last night and came up with the following Epic warband:
Elminster 100 Archmage 98 Rikka (Epic) 143 Mordy 69 Adventuring Wizard 36 Elf Pyromancer 32 Devis 6 Graycloak Ranger w/ Timber Wolf 15
499 points, 9 activations.
The idea is to bombard the enemy with Fireballs, Lightning Bolts, Cone of Cold, Mordy's Swords, ect ect and then when the enemy is worn down from all the AoE damage, bring in Epic Rikka using her Waylay ability and mop up the mess. The warband is a little low in hitpoints for Epic IMO but as long as my wizards get to cast their important spells before they die then thats all that matters to me.
So what do you all think? Anything that you'd add/replace to make this band more effective? Keep in mind that I don't want to use multiple Archmages because thats kinda cheesy and looked down upon at my FLGS.
Thanks!

| Lets get on vassal and you play that band and I will play:
Elminster Archamage x4 Xeph fighter x2
That band won't do too much in epic. It has a lot of weaknesses (sp?) | | About the Poster: Incarnum is a dedicated player of Dungeons and Dragons RPG/Minis. | | Something to keep in mind is that regular Elminster doesn't get epic Rikka's healing spell, because she costs more points than him. I'd drop Mordy and Adventuring Wizard. Their short range spells would be of limited use, and you need more beef if you don't want to focus purely on long-range artillery-type spells (ala Archmage). Perhaps use those points instead for a Clay Golem and a Couatl. With the snake's commander effect, the Clay Golem is an extremely potent blocker, even against Archmages. | | "Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." - Albert Einstein Champion of Myopic Half-Orcs Winner, WBC X

| | I can see that you're going for a spellcaster-themed warband, but if you want to win, you'll need a little bit more of a melee presence than just Rikka. Stick with Elminster and the Archmage, but maybe try to fit the Aspect of Kord in there, to help Rikka out with the fighting. That'll give more time for your Mordenkainen's Swords to wear down your opponent. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| Thanks for the advise everybody! After taking everything into consideration, I've decided to add some beef to the warband. Here's two possabilities I came up with:
1st
Elminster 100 Epic Rikka 143 Archmage 98 Adventuring Wizard 26 Elf Pyromancer 32 Evermeet Wizard 39 Warforged Barbarian 49 Xeph Warrior 3
2nd
Elminster 100 Epic Rikka 143 Archmage 98 Adventuring Wizard 26 Elf Pyromancer 32 Evermeet Wizard 39 Warbound Impaler 52
The barbarian is an excellent hitter and can wittle at high AC enemies with his Bloodrage ability. The first warband also has 1 more activation in the beginning, but I think that is a moot point because even the 2nd warband will have activation control once Elminster or Evermeet casts Summon Monster III. I do like the Warbound Impaler as a blocker. AC19 and 125 HP means some staying power. And if it manages to pull off its Impale ability before Rikka activates, she can move in and swipe the paralyzed enemy for 60 magic per hit!
Now that I'm thinking about it out loud... I'm going to have to go with the 2nd warband
