Subject: Monk Commandos Help

There is only one thing I cant decide on for my Monk Commandos Warband:

200pt

1x Young Master = 44
3x Githzerai Monk = 102
1x Couatl = 42


Now I have 12 points left, should I go with:

1x Healer = 12

Command: -
Speed: 6
AC: 14
HP: 20
Melee Attack: +1
Melee Damage: 5
Ranged Attack: -
Ranged Damage: -
Type: Humanoid (Human)
Special: Healing Hands (whenever this creature casts a spell that heals, it heals +5 HP over printed amount),
Spells -
Level 1 = Cure Light Wounds (3 times, touch, heal 5 HP),
Level 2 = Cure Moderate Wounds (2 times, touch, heal 10 HP), Remove Paralysis (once only, range 6, radius 2, remove paralysis from allies)





OR



2x Mialee, Elf Wizard = 12

Speed: 6
AC: 13
HP: 5
Melee Attack: +0
Melee Damage: 5
Ranged Attack: -
Ranged Damage: -
Type: Humanoid (Elf)
Special: Unique
Spells -
Level 1 = Magic Missle (once only, sight, 5 damage), Magic Weapon (once only, touch, +1 attack, ignore DR)

for the 12 points I usally go with a warforged scout and a hill dwarf warrior

With the special ability of 'unique', how are you considering 2 Mialee's? I'm under the impression that you can't have more than one of the same unique in your band, hence the whole idea of 'unique'. Could be wrong though...
Pending that my interpretation is correct, Idon't see that you have an alternative to the healer, although Foxman's suggestion may be better to get you those tile points without tying up one of your 3 hitters.

I second warforged scout and hill dwarf/jozan

OR to max activations you could do Mialee and two Man at arms/human commoners

PS. This is what the alphabet would look like if Q and R were removed

I like this answer as well. While the Gith Monks are plenty fast, I find that they can still be put out of position if you need to dedicated one to tile-grabbing. Better to dedicate the WFS to the job in some out-of-the-way victory area that'll make your opponent think twice about pursuing.

My choice with this band is T wolf, Hill Dwarf, Human Commoner.

Having less than 8 activations is a bad idea. This combo lets you get round 1 points with the T wolf, if they take that out you move in the commoner, and the dwarf moves in in the third round, while your monks are free to manoeuver.

Mialee doesn't really add anything to the band, and while the healer is OK, it's unlikely she will be able to keep up with monks to keep them healed. I guess if your local Meta is Gauth/LSD heavy then the Remove Paralysis might be useful, but I think the extra activations will help you out more.
