When looking over some reasonably efficient CG hitters I thought the Dragonne was okay. Level 9 and 75 hit points appealed to me. Pounce and Blindfight are also nice. I think you need multiples to make it work to get the most from the Predatory roar.
So, I came up with this:
Dragonnex4
CoCL
Eberk
Mialee
Celestial Dire Badger (maybe a Timber Wolf or Hunting Cougar??)
I've got 4 Magic Weapon (although 1 will be on a later round) spells plus the Bless and Divine Prtection to help with saves and make their AC reasonable. I played it at league night and did okay but found with large bases and no melee reach I had a tough time fitting them into areas I needed them.

So, I want to drop a Dragonne. My problem is what to replace it with. I could go with a Greenfang and drop the CoCL. This would give me 11 points. Problem is that I'd basiclly lose a hitter.

The other option is to replace it with another hitter such as Rikka. I'm even toying with the idea of a HalfGiant Psychic Warrior.

If I do go with Rikka, what should I upgrade my tech/fodder to?
Dragonnex3 = 108
Rikka = 31
CoCL = 25
Eberk = 16
Leaves 20 points to spend. Mialee and Aramil? Half-Elf Sorc and Timber Wolf?

Any advice would be appreciated. [:)]

I was looking at the same thing, and came to the decision that 2 Dragonnes was enough - and that there were more efficient uses for the other points.

Can you make the room for a Dark Traveller? Giving the Dragonnes MR 2 would help alleviate their large base problem...

I prefer this build:

Dragonne x3
Greenfang Druid
Hunting Cougar x3
15 point archer of your choice (steelheart, stalker, or greycloak)

I think getting the dragonnes to do magic damage is pretty important, and you're definitely right that multiples are a must given the way the roar works out.

I enjoyed playing Greenfang, Dragonne X4, Xeph X2. However, this is purely a fun band. The dragonne's hit hard, but they have some difficulty. In particular:

1.) They are large, so grouping around an enemy is difficult.
2.) One of them has to sacrifice an attack to roar.
3.) They are not fearless - you're likely to lose at least 1 to a poor morale check.

They are fun, but not teir 1. Not by a long shot.

The greenfang druid is a hitter on his own. Its a cool warband but not tier 1. (not that theres anything wrong with a fun band! I bet it would be great to play and could win casual games vs. other casual warbands!)

It would be very unlikely for unlikely events not to occur.
