| | I have to weigh in and vote for my personal favorite, the Large Silver Dragon... he was the first rare I pulled from my very first booster of Archfiends, and was my favorite figure, and still is slightly in the lead for overall favorite fig. | | Champion of Tanis Half-Elven | |

| You're going to get a million different responses to this -- and probably a lot of identical ones too -- and it's possible this is best put in General Discussion, but my answer's split.
Obvious favorite figure would be the Celestial Pegasus. It looks great (especially repainted) and it's a fairly solid performer in Skirmish. The only thing that would top this for me is a Pegasus with a mounted, lance-wielding combatant riding it.
Not so obvious would be Brass Samurai. It's a cool idea and looks good, I just wish it were a Follower instead of a Commander; it could've been CG's breakthrough 35-37 point beater. I wish CG had more, better Dragon Samurai; the Brass was a great start, but both it and the Copper should've been regular Followers, I think. Oh well, I'll still play the Brass, since it's a lot of fun in Skirmish. | | - Irrationally Fanatical Champion of Pegasus-mounted cavalry - Proud member of Team Low Tier Beasting: I play CG as my main faction! - Garland, TX 2006 Qualifier Champion My trading thread: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19725

| The Rakshasa for me. Its my favorite villain to use in RPG games, both hard to kill and a spellcaster with a high BAB. Secondly, its pretty good in skirmish too. Reasonable cost, ComFX that can be amazing at times and a good selection of utility spells.

| 1) Large Silver Dragon- Looks cool, first tier 1 band i ever had, fun to play with
2) Archmage- This is the new basis for 90% of my armies and i really just love the intricate playstyle of the archmage
3) Deathknigh- First booster ever, got a deathknell i think, with the Death knight on the cover and pulled him out of the booster... that was really exciting [:)] | | PS. This is what the alphabet would look like if Q and R were removed

| | The Black Dragon is my favourite miniature. I have always liked evil dragons and when I read books concerning colours the black ones always appealed to me because they had great physical and attitude descriptions. They were the ultimate, intellectual evil. I then discovered D&D and when I bought a few books I was amazed by the artwork and abilities of the black dragon, especially the acid breath. I hate fire as I have always had too many close calls with it and I get jittery around any source of fire that isn't my wood stove, wooden matches or a small campfire. I'm afraid of lighters, lanterns, and candles more than any other source of fire, actually. I don't like the cold even though I am for the most part unaffected by it unless it is a blizzard or a strong wind but like the dark, cloudy weather that goes with it. I respect electricity but am very cautious due to partial fear of it. I know I will never handle truly harmful acid or be near it but I have watched recordings of its use and it intrigues me more than anything. I also prefer the night, though always on edge in a very "if you jump out I won't hesitate to beat you back with anything I can find because I was always expecting you" way. The sculpt of the mini itself is far more detailed than any other mini I have seen so far and I hope that never changes. All of these factors and more make up why I like the Black Dragon as my favourite miniature. | | Champion of the Prismatic Golem

| | Blood Ghost Berserker. He looks cool, I like playing him, and he has good stats in my opinion. He's sorta the poor mans Orc champ. Yes, I know he is nowhere near as good, but I think I would rather pay 80 cents for a blood ghost instead of 60 bucks for a champ. [XX(] | | Champion of the Ixitxachitl | |

I've always been a Silver Dragon Fan, and I was stoked when this one came out. I also really like the MSD, it's a bunch of fun casual.

second would be archmage because he is very powerful and tricky to play

| Tough call. Hmm...
Overall, I'd also have to go with the Beholder. Gotta love the eyes!
For skirmish only, I'd probably go with Aramil. He's small, insignificant looking...and still a near-essential mini in my LG and CG warbands.
For looks, I'd probably go with the Balor. Big, mean...he's everything a demon should be.
For D&D, my current fave is probably the Roper, which is one of those monsters I love to spring on my players in most any campaign I run...usually in cruel and surprising ambushes when they least expect it. Cool sculpt, too.
BTW the Large Silver Dragon is definitely NOT one of my favorites. It should get the prize for Dragon Most Likely to be Assembled from Duct Tape. Favorite dragon for me is probably the black (for looks).

I actually think he's more akin to the poor man's Frenzied Berserker. Similar abilities, similar performance. Different factions, but they operate on roughly the same ideas.
Still a nice piece though. Yeah, he's no Orc Champ, but at least it's a decent CE piece that as you noted, costs abour 50 cents to $2.00-ish, as opposed to $TankOf.Gas like an "old school" CE band would cost. | | - Irrationally Fanatical Champion of Pegasus-mounted cavalry - Proud member of Team Low Tier Beasting: I play CG as my main faction! - Garland, TX 2006 Qualifier Champion My trading thread: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19725

It's an excellent support unit thanks to Countersong, and Pipes can help you win initiative when you need to make the first attack next round. | 5. Large Blue Dragon, a mean looking sculpt for a mean dragon. Too bad he is stuck in the old dragon era and it'll take forever and a day to get a new upgraded one.
4. Death Knight, I grew up on the SSI Gold Box DnD computer games and these dudes were an absolute menance in Death Knights of Krynn. His sculpt rules, his attacks rule ... WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS HP ??!?!?
3. Mind Flayer, a classic lawful evil tyrant. Harbinger was mired with bad skirmish pieces and even worse sculpts but this guy still stands out.
2. War Troll, look at the dictionary definition of "I'm going to kick your ass" and there is a picture of a War Troll.
1. Human Blackguard, the epitome of evil is the warped and evil paladin. The sculpt is pretty sweet (he needs a repaint) and you can argue that he is still the best all around LE commander in the skirmish game. | | Proud to say the Eye of Grumsh is my favorite. I got him while reading the Thousand Orcs book series. He's a good sculpt from his day. He was one of the few in his party to survive a fireball and he went ahead to kill that pyromancer. I like his attitude.
