Warduke 70
hill giant barbarian 78
mounted drow patrol 27
howling orc 15
orc skel 5
orc skel 5

only 6 activations but i figure mounted drow and howlign orc would take out 2 fodder by the time heavy combat happens evening out the activations

use the hill giant and orc skels to buy some time for the warduke and howling orc pick off low level units. mounted drow acts as hit and runner. then bring in warduke with mounted drow once low level fodder is gone so warduke is 10 damage buffed.

i was thinking 2 blood ghost berserkers instead of HGB? but i figure by the time hill giant has to make a moral save, hes done his job to buy time. otherwise 2 ghost zerkers are more fearless units and commanders dont really make or break them.

warduke has independant, fodder are fearless and the patrol will hopfully not take much damage until the end where he will help flank for warduke.

I think its a fine band for fun, but I think the WarDuke is way too many points to be in a Tourney band... if you're playing this in a fun area and want to do well, I like the idea. If you're looking to try to win a tourney with it, the lack of commander is going to be a HUGE problem with the HGB...

any reason you are so agaisnt a commander?

I would drop warduke for maybe Ryld (solid commander since you like hitting) and maybe drop a skele (and use left over points points for a wardrummer)

OR

Put in Ryld, drop Howling Orc and get wardrummer and trog thug or quagoth for more activations

could drop 2 skellies for 3 orc warriors/gnolls (get activations up)

or use a cheap commander like tiefling but that might not be most sturdy

Suggestion...

you REALLY should consider

Wardrummer (basically a must)
Commander (really no reason to have one when they are as cheap as 16 points or 21 or 27 for a sturdier one)
7ish Activations (not saying six hurts you but 7 or 8 activations really helps with activation control)

Hope it helped and the band you have now could be good in a fun setting, that i agree with...

PS. This is what the alphabet would look like if Q and R were removed

The only one thats just one giant HP sink in CE is the Zombie White Dragon... He's fearless and in CE, but other than that, he doesn't do much... his breath is kinda paltry, but he's one of the best blocking figures in the game.
