trying to figure which would be best to use with another xen'champ to kill fodder

MDP can get to fodder quicker, make a hit then move to the next while xen finishes it. but mounted drow has low attack power. after the low health fodder is dead it could help flank and do hit and runs

having 2 xens means 2 ranged attacks for sniping fodder with high attack power. but without skirmish, its melee damage is low and its ranged is low low. after the low hp fodder is dead they would just end up ticking away or flanking, but if i use them for flanking im missing out of skirmish buff

but for the price of mdp/xen or xen/xen i could have another 40ish point beater

It would help if we knew the band that you planned on using these minis in. But, that said, I prefer the Mounted drow for its ability to get it where you need to and then get out. Xendriks are good too, but adding then M-drow will give you another option and propose another threat to your opponent.

Well, since you want to kill fodder, then a high attack power is not really necessary, so an MDP is better. Also, these days, most fodder is used for tile-grabbing in out-of-the-way areas; again, the high speed and reach 2 of the MDP allow it to go and make the easy kill, and then come back and assist in the main fight.

using the MDP gives me 7 activations but if i used a second xen i would have 3 points for an 8th act

Don't worry about jumping from 7 activations to 8, as you'll still have four phases either way. Now, if the jump was from 6 to 7, then I'd be with you, but here I think it's still better to have the MDP.

the speed for the mounted drow patrol beats xendriks, good in taking out opponents tile grabbing fodder.and like the nameless i agree its a versatile unit.
