| Now that 1000 pt bands look like more of a reality with all the high cost creatures.
what kind of band will you make?
my friends and I are gonna try a (1000 pt 12 fig) vs 2 x 500 pt (8 fig) band
course that band has to follow a theme
I made a tordek/dwarf band
this basically expands on my 500 pt tordek band + adds a couple of extra beaters.. still blur rolls are gonna be a bitch :o
tordek, dwarf champ (epic) aspect of moradin (epic) slaughterstone eviscerator (epic) dwarven defender warpriest of moradin dwarf ancestor battle plate marshall couatl melfling pyro war weaver dwarf sergeant dwarf artificer
tordek has 32 ac (40 ac vs giants) or 36 ac vs peeps that moved or 44 vs giants that moved all while not being within range of any dwarven commanders!!!
course you need to have fly on tordek and NEED to keep the dwarf ancestor alive :D

| We're actually doing this format tomorrow at the FLGS. It'll be myself and another player using 1000 point armies vs. two other players using 500 point armies. I've had a lot of ideas but some I just don't have the figures to make happen. 8 Steel Predators with the new Blackguard on Nightmare (epic) commanding would be nice. As would Ryld, Hill Giant Chief and 6 Fomorians but I just don't have that many of said multiple figures. I have a few other ideas so we'll see what I throw at them. Should be a lot of fun!

| Given the opportunity to play in the format I think I would run:
Dragon Totem Hero, Epic 157 Aspect of Tiamat 352 Aspect of Bahamut 318 Golden Protector 41 Wand Expert 33 Large Green Dragon 51 Small White Dragon 24 Small White Dragon 24 total 1000
Tiamat and Bahamut working together? Yikes. I would blur them both with the Wand Expert, use the Golden Protector with Bahamut and one Small White for Team A and Tiamat with the Large Green and the other Small White as Team B.
Dispatch the two teams along either side of the map and sweep whatever gets in the way until they meet in the middle. The Small Whites are great for flankers to activate the Large Green's flanking bonus.
The Epic Dragon Totem Hero can either accompany one of the two teams for one totally overwhelming force or strike out on his own trying to clean up stragglers or other solo figs. Walk the Wand Expert along with him for added auto-damage and they could make a decent Team C. | | Champion of the Warpriest of Laduguer

| | AoB and AoT cannot be brought in with the DTH. They are both Commanders, which means another Commander's Warband Building won't work with them. | | | |

Could you please explain to me why you can't bring both in? Relative newbie but I didn't see whats stopping the Totem Hero from doing this. The card states "Dragons of any faction are legal in your warband." It doesn't mention anything about them being commanders.

| | Warband Building is a Commander Effect. Commander Effects only works on non-Commanders. | | | |

| TRUDAT :O
You can bring Bahamut over to CG thru Elminster but that's about it.
You currently can't have Bahamut or Tiamat on the same faction .. unless you are playing dragon down grotto :p

| | Actually the two smaller allied teams should be 450pts each not 500pts. The original Dread Enemy was 500pts vs 225pts x2. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | Okay, so here is my revised dragon band for 1000 pt.
Team A Aspect of Bahamut 318 Golden Protector 41 Small Black Dragon 11 Team B Bluespawn Godslayer 145 Bluespawn Godslayer 145 Large Green Dragon 51 Team C Dragon Totem Hero, Epic 157 Elminster of Shadowdale 100 Spellscale Sorcerer 31 total 999
Elminster/Spellscale can blur the three Huges then work on Enfeebling the opposing top hitters. | | Champion of the Warpriest of Laduguer

| Perhaps not as effective as they should be I came up with three all flying 1000pt warbands.
Good Dragon Flight Aspect of Bahamut Huge Gold Dragon Large Silver Dragon Large Bronze Dragon Large Copper Dragon Medium Silver Dragon Brass Dragon Bronze Wyrmling Small Copper Dragon
The Flight of Darkness Aspect of Tiamat Huge Red Dragon Sorcerer on Black Dragon Large Blue Dragon Large Green Dragon Black Dragon Red Wyrmling Small White Dragon Small Black Dragon
Chaotic Air Force Griffon Cavalry (epic)x3 Rikka, Angelic Avenger (epic) Ghaele Eladrin Archmage x2 Medium Air Elemental x2
The Dragon bands are entirely thematic as I tried to include each primary dragon type. The CG one is a little trick as I tried to stay away from the dragons. All are designed to be played in the open sky where the only terrain are clouds and flying does not automatically protect from AoO.

| here's a quick 1000 point band in the standard 8 activations. lol.
aspect of tiamat dracolich bluespawn godslayer bluespawn godslayer beholder small black dragon timber wolf kobold miner
tiamat is just there for her goodness, and in 1000 points it actually gives you room for nasty beaters. dracolich and godslayers benefit from her commander effect. beholder is there for antimagic eye and to drop some negative damage on the dracolich. the other three are tile grabbers. its just an interesting concept to toy around with.

| Thanks dmmandil. If you're not a slave to theme it isn't too hard to improve any of those warbands and/or get them down to the eight figure limit. My biggest problem with them is the real world cost involved in constructing them due to all the rares (and old rares as well) that are in them.

| | That is true. Where I do most of my playing the sets you can pull from are limitted to the last four so apart from the limits of finding and buying old pieces, I am limitted by the fact none of the old pieces are legal in the local format. Needless to say I do most of my buying in the recent sets and simply adapt peoples ideas as best I can. For instance, what commander to use with the Gith Monks when the Young Master is not legal, etc. | | Champion of the Warpriest of Laduguer | |
