| beside the 3.5 updates, IIRC it started off like the PHB with races including the Aasimar & Tiefling. Following this was a small list of More powerful races with a complete level progression chart for each of them (for example the Hound Archon from 1st to 11th level.)
Also if your familar with the 'racial substitution levels' of the 'Races' books they had a Planar version in this book.
PrC are a given in this book (none of them are updates from the MotP, therefore all new.) I think the PrC had something to do with Orders/Sects that are described in the book.
Plus Spell and Monster sections, I can't say if they were all new or if some are updates, sorry.
I don't own the book, just looked at it quite a few times, so I can't recommend if you should buy it or not. | |

| The Planar Handbook is, IMO, one of the worst books WoTC has done, along with Races of Destiny and the Miniatures Handbook (shortest book ever!).
Why? Because it was a player oriented book on the planes, it was doomed from the start. The sole purpose of this book seemed to be to turn the planes into a huge set of Yoshi Eggs for the PCs, through Planar Substitution levels, Touchstones (which consume much of the book) and Planar feats. If you run using material from this book, the planes aren't a place of mystery and strangeness, they're a shopping mall of KEWL POWERZ!
Bleargh. You only need the Manual of the Planes, it actually has information on the planes OTHER than Touchstone sites. That's right, the Planar Handbook had NO INFORMATION on the Planes! | |

| Damn my brain to Baator. Less than an hour ago, I came up with an idea for a campaign that uses the Planar Handbook. Think Stargate SG-1 in D&D, plane hopping.
For a short campaign, it'd be a lot of fun. | |
