Is the character of a race that would have an experience penalty for not keeping balanced in level progression? If so, the penalty is a pain to deal with.

I don't know what the specifics are on any prestige classes.

If you are encountering a lot of "legged" creatures that can be tripped, that might be a fun feat to take. I like the attacks of opportunity that result from tripping enemy. Combat reflexes is a good feat to take if you have a decent dexterity bonus for the additional AoO's that you get.

There are alot of things to consider, you should currently be running with a penalty for using two "one handed melee weapons" versus a one handed weapon and a light weapon. A feat that would really benefit you is "Oversized off hand weapon" out of the Complete Warrior. It would allow you to use both longswords without the penalty. Then the obvious route for feats include weapon focus and weapon specialization for long sword. After a couple more levels, improved crit long sword. Then you become devistatingly effective in melee combat.

One prestige class you could consider is Dervish... they get the ability to fight with two scimitars (you could take the weapon focus and specialization for those instead) and have alot of other nice abilities. The other 2 weapon prestige classs to consider is Tempest.

I would highly recommend getting those swords enchanted with Spell Storing as quickly as you can...
Nothing says 'I hurt you lots' for this character better than the additional 4d8+6 your first two hits would deal with inflict mod stored in each weapon.
On the other hand, if you had a wizard or sorcerer in the party, Glitterdust and ray of enfeeblement means that your opponent is a little less dangerous and potentially blinded too (ouch).

The tempest prestige class? what book is that in, but thanks for some ideas, im not really sure where i want to go with this character with the party as it is there is no clear front line fighter, we have a monke/wizard , ranger- with bow feats, a healer and a druid, many times i find myself holding the line, his clerical spells help with that , shiel dof faith and bulls str so i should probably try to keep things fairly equal, being a elf means that the xp penalties will kick in. his two handed fighting penalties arent to bad +6/+6 to hit with both longswords on a full attack which isnt so bad, just with the lack of another big hitting fighter or barbarian the brunt of the fighting seems to fall to him.

If you're intending to be a frontline character, I'd take one more level of fighter, grabbing improved two-weapon fighting (extra attack with offhand weapon) and then pick a melee-oriented prestige class, so you don't get hit with XP penalties. Definitely if you have two of the same weapon that you like to fight with, get weapon focus and weapon specialization with 'em.

Tempest is in actually two different books. It is in the 3.5 Complete Adventurer. It gets a bonus to armor class, greater ambidexterity (no penalty at all for using two weapons), and two weapon spring attack. There is also a version in the 3.0 book masters of the wild. That one gets improved two weapon fighting, greater two weapon fighting, and supreme two weapon fighting. By the time you hit 19th level you will have 8 attacks per round without any magical benifit.

I have been working towards the tempest class in the master of the wild since before 3.5 came out. The prerequisites are pretty tough, +9 base attack bonuse, Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, 2 Weapon Fighting, and Weapon Focus, but it is a cool class.

Is there a divine equivlent to arcane strike? That would be awesome.

Champion of the Prestige Class where mages focus on telekenesis and start throwing people into the ceiling and uber stuff like that.

What kind of stats does your character have?
If he has a positive CHA modifier, you might consider divine vigor in the complete warrior for the extra speed and hitpoints when it counts.

If you dont want to ignore your clerical levels, maybe warpriest would be the way to go, it gives you some additional advancement in your divine spellcasting and at the same time allows you to power up the rest of your party so that they can also be of use in a fight.

Are your stats roll for or did you use a point buy system?

Hrm. Do you end up with a lot of characters whose stats are 18/18/14/10/10/10?

actually we dont most players have a 16 or a 18 and then even stats throughout we are all over 28 so i guess the uber min maxer is gone from our systems. I have used many systems to roll dice and we have all found this varaint to be the most flexable and enjoyable to use.
