| There's a map for an "Earth Sled" in the Magic of Eberron map gallery, leading me to believe that you might find your answers in that book.

| The Earth Sled is a bit different to a land cart. We are told of one of those in Shadows of the Last War. A guy names Failin owned it. They are sort of like a wagon, but powered by a bound earth elemental. They even have a rocky, gem-like appearance, so clearly tougher than the wooden variety in terms of hardness and hit points. They're quick, being able to earth glide, they could have DR because earth elementals (large) do; or maybe hardness 'X'. I'd give them at least as many HP as an earth elemental medium (30).
To make one would require the feat "Bind Elemental". Prerequisites are Craft Wondrous Item and CL9. You would need a Khyber Dragonshard. House Orien has a bit of a monopoly on land carts. They probably employ gnome artificers, or maybe their own human artificers to make the carts.
With lesser planar binding (5th level spell) you can call a 4HD medium earth elemental (no DR) and bind it permanently to the land cart courtesy of the dragonshard.
Putting a cost on it??? Hmm, lightning rail coach comes in at 58,000gp, using CL15 and greater planar binding. So for a land cart .... you can't work out a value using the DM's guide, so pick a number ... say 25,000gp? | |

Special Hardbound copies of the book came out at GenCon, and they might be selling a few more straight from Paradigm Concepts. I am awaiting an email reply on that.
