| Its for 4th level.
And yes every single monster and NPC in the adventure has "Suggested Mini" in its statistics block.
Unfortunatly no new or unknown minis are mentioned. | | Champion of the Skulk Vindicated Champion of the Twig Blight

| I really like it. It reminds me of a higher level sunless citadel mixed with lOTR "battle of helms deep". The only thing that bugs me is that its much too strong for 4th level characters unless they leave after every 5 or so encounters. This would really effect the pace of the adventure. Especially since a major portion of its focus is time sensitive.
DnD minis has proven that Orcs are very strong encounters for their CR, and 4th level characters haven't reached the point of getting "group management" spells like fireball or lighting bolt. A party of 4 4th level characters should have 1 solid fighter, 2 partial fighters (clerics and rogues) and 1 character that never should be near combat ever. A pair of level 3 orc barbarians would be a painful encounter for them, and a group of 6 or more orcs with class levels should be an almost TPK. Orcs just do too much damage when they hit.
I think I would let my party go in at 5th or 6th level, or weaken all the orcs by a level. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! Check out my brand new blog: http://bshugg.blogspot.com

| | I have it and I believe it is doable, but it is most definately written for a party of 6. Going in with 4 is almost suicide for all but the most incredibly well constructed parties. | | Einstein would turn in his grave; God does play dice, and the dice are loaded!

| | you can definatly beat it at 4th, just you can't stay long. Using 4 of my players they would probably have to leave and rest about 5 times during the adventure. Definatly not the pace the authors are suggesting. Plus orcs (especially barbarians) are fast and can follow tracks. The party may not be able to camp safely anywhere nearby. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! | Playing it with my group at the moment. They infiltrated the top floor first, with some stealthy kills, then through the hole in the roof of the main hole, began to blow things up (starting with the bloodwine, which they argued had to be explosive. This attracted all the orcs in the frotress, who tried to shhot them, but failed. The major threat, however was from the orc chief and his wyvern, who flew up through the hole and it was looking like a TPK until one of them "accidentally" shot a burning hands through the rogue's riding dog, which was at the time standing next to the wyvern, and more importantly, carrying 7 pints of lamp oil. This did blow one of them onto -5 health, but it dispatched most of what was left threat wise (including the zhentarim cleric of banes summonned fiendish crocodile). They are going down to the basements next time.

| | Not reading any of this. One of the campaigns I'm currently involved in takes place in the Silver Marches - Orc Heaven, and DM has specifically forbidden any of us to look at Sons of Gruumsh. | | I have always been here. | |

Thx Dooku! Bah, with a title like that I was expecting a higher level adventure, I hope it is a good one at least. I love the cover I might just pick it up if it is good and have it for when and if we survive the new rules [:p] | | Trades >> Completed: 49 | Bad: Ø | Pending: 0 | Trade & talk Live on IRC! | The adventure could very easily be played as a 6th or 7th level adventure if the PCs just barge into the orc citadel.
I've written an extended review of it on the General Discussion forum of ENworld, with massive spoilers. http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=151337

That's excellent! I love when adventures are set in one certain world and I also love it when they can be placed anywhere with little or no modification.

| I've got Sons of Gruumsh and I'm very happy with it. It'll take some work to put it into my Scarred Lands campaign, but not a prohibitive amount. It's a great mildly investigative orc-based dungeon crawl.
Merric's not kidding about the text being dense. "Wasted" pages aside, there's more crammed into the 32 pages of this adventure than into some books twice its size. | | Jeff "Wayne Laredo" Wilder | Email | Have/Want List | Trade Policies | Are You an Ethical Trader?
