| You may want to look for some of the Gamma world suppliments from over the years for inspiration. Or the "Deathlands" series of novels.
D20 modern is pretty straight and simple. You shouldn't have many hitches unless you have picky players. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! Check out my brand new blog: http://bshugg.blogspot.com | |

IIRC there's minor changes from the D&D rules, so you might give the main d20 modern book a quick read again, esp the combat sections.
Good luck, the game sounds like a LOTTA fun! I picked it up but havne't run it.

| I'm running it right now and it is a heck of a lot of fun. Some things that will greatly help. Make up an inventory sheet that lists the different types of food, water, ammo, gas, parts, etc. Anything expendable. Make it so that there are 20-30 boxes after each thing so that the players check a box for each unit they have. This will make it easy to keep track of supplies as at low levels just having enough food to survive will be tricky and part of the fun of the setting. For example after my PCs found an old abandoned gas station and defeated the mutated rats that inhabited it, they found 6 cans of chili. They were extatic.
Make sure someone in the party has the search skill maxed out. This will be important for when they scavenge for stuff in old buildings.
I don't know what setting you picked, but we went with post rapture apocalypse. So no divine magic, which means no magical healing. This was probably the biggest adjectment for me. It means having more that one or two combats per day becomes very difficult as healing in between battles would be limited.
Also monsters that are challenging because deal large amounts of damage are a lot more challenging without healing, as compared to say a monster that is challenging because it disables people with stunning attacks or what not.
As compared to DnD, be prepared for someone in the party to have a kick butt AC by 2nd level. A fast hero with improvised sports pad armor and an improvised shield could easily have an AC of 23-25 by 2nd level. Which is generaly higher than you'd see in DnD at the equivalent level. This is mainly due to that nice class bonus to AC fast heroes get. So be prepared to miss them a lot.
Thats all I can think of now, but if you have any questions feel free to email me.

| Part of me is saying fong off the d20 Modern, use the paperbacks for ideas.
Oh wait, I am saying it. OK then. If you want an absolutely kick-a set of modern rules based on the d20 system, its REALLY hard to top Spycraft 2.0. Not only is an exhaustive and well-set out system, but that book is a lethal freaking weapon, its so big.
Combat in it is FREAKING lethal too, which may suit post-apoc better than the ultra-heroic HP based d20 Modern. | | Support awesome games: Play Hecatomb!
