| An older, I think discontinued, game called Torg might fit your bill. Its a game about war in alternate realities. I have never played it myself but it sounds like it may fit your needs heres a link to the company game site http://www.westendgames.com/torg/indextorg.html | | | |

| | Gurps has their Weird World War II supplment which I highly recomend. Supressed Transmissions I & II (I love Kennith Hite) have some great sugestions for alternate histories. | | Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe - anything at all - you would have hidden from it in terror. | |

Thanks, but not really what I was looking for.
In the Turdledove novels there was no technology. Magic had replaced technology so none had developed. Magic was use every day by almost everyone in very mudane ways. (a tailor would use small spells to sew clothes) The arms race during the war was based on the devlopment of new and improved magic. Magic universities where fill not with crazy old wizard and ancient text, but with mathmaticis. In most fantasy world magic is based on some idea of ancient secrets. Here it was based on scientif princples and experments. | | Yes I am Gelatinous.

I don't know of anything that would fit what you're looking for, but I'm a big Turtledove fan. | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!

| Not what you are looking for but I have always been a fan of Shadowrun. Dust off the huge pile of d6's and go to town. Not a bad system and a really fun setting. But it is a world where magic and tech run side by side.
If what you really want is a Turdledove style world, then you might just want to make a homebrewed game where the only clases are spell casters and mundane weapons are pass'e.

| Every Time I come into the RP forum and glance at the title of this thread, guess what I read now.[B)] I've read it dozens of times now and your reading of it keeps bleeding through. I better avoid the RP fourums for a bit then.[)]

I guess i have to give it a go. Between work and the three games I am all ready involved in creating a world is going to be a slow process. Thanks for all the avice and options.
Anyone who hasn't read the series give it a try. It starts with "Into the Darkness" and is one of the most unique fantasy experiences you will ever have. | | Yes I am Gelatinous.
