| Hi All,
I'm familiar with the Forgotten Realms and Eberron campaign settings, and have heard that the default world for D&D is Greyhawk, but what is the Greyhawk campaign setting (how is it different from FR and Eberron)? Is there a difference between Greyhawk and Living Greyhawk? Is Greyhawk (or Living Greyhawk) out of print, and are adventures still availible for it?
Thanks [:)] | | Completed Trades: Cha0tic g0od x2,IHawk x6,demagogue x5,jcnorris00,Sammael x3,Diomedes x3,Pan,Phoenix,samstephenson500,sage_raistlin,jai,simage,Lab Monkey x4,bugsy,Vulturedoodle,T-Bone,niolo,GreyOne,Kunimatyu,Mullins,ShivanWurm,berus316,Thenameless x3,Tysac,ksuvampire,Mama Cass,Metz,Zim x2,brucemc,Krush x3,Venport,RedneckDM,nycfarmkid,Corim Danex,Chad the DragonLordofAiur x2,Puggins,Izeya82 x2,Oryan77 x3,Zenako,Wayne,Vocenoctum1,Drakkengi,Username x2,lyus_sleyden,Cyberia,Star x2,xuthal x3,Qucalion of Celene x8,sam500 x2,Blob39,Keoki x2,hazel monday x3,emontedodger,Dargoth,Wraithborne,Anothermullen,Vrecknidj x4,Ghendar,Gunthar,shoesan,beurice,ckissee,kyrin,Khellrendros,GuJiaXian,Wolfgang,True_Blue,md3,stephengroy(MMT08),Teflon Jeff,GuJiaXian(MMT08),aries71,Count Dooku,Kat_Dawg33,oldben,TheChuck,hung4treason,relientKittenI I I I I I I I I I 0 I I I I I I I I I I Pending: Thenameless,Krush

| There aren't any actual 3.5 Greyhawk books that I know of, but Living Greyhawk is still being (very) actively played, and adventures are still being written.
Greyhawk is the campaign world, and is the default setting for 3rd edition D&D. All the gods in the PHB are Greyhawk gods, and the mages that spells are named after in the PHB (Mordenkainen, Bigby) are Greyhawk characters, which is about the extent that there is any Greyhawk flavor. The main difference between Greyhawk and FR or Eberron is that it's a different world, and has different geography, characters, etc. The main play style difference is that Greyhawk is pretty "vanilla" D&D (it is the default campaign after all) and doesn't really have any additional feats, classes, or other modified systems (like spellfire in FR.)
Living Greyhawk is the largest campaign set in Greyhawk, and about the largest campaign ever. You can read more about it at http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/welcome but the gist of it, is that it's played at conventions and game days, using published adventures. It uses a reward tracking system to keep players at about the wealth and power levels laid out in the DMG, so that players can pick up their characters and move from game to game easily. | | Champion of the Rakshasa. Hmmm... There are many more subtle differences. Living Greyhawk, and Greyhawk lore have published feats and classes and such, but Greyhawk has MANY differences to the Forgotten Realms.
Greyhawk is a world where evils does in fact win about as often as they loose. Sometimes, they win MUCH more than they loose. The Good guys are often on the ropes, an very often player characters encounter situations where it is tough to understand exactly who IS good.
Take a gander on over to http://www.canonfire.com/ and you'll get your fill of Greyhawk specific info...

Heh... That's great, of course that's not how they were written. You should just do what your heart tells you... come play in Greyhawk! [)]
